Legna says: While I have a deep, abiding affection for Jasper/Bella stories, I know that non-canon pairings aren’t for everyone. This beautifully-written story might be an exception to that rule for a lot of E/B shippers, though, because of the way Jasper and Bella’s relationship is being developed. They were acquaintances of circumstance, really—two people who happened to be dating siblings. Now that those respective relationships have ended (the circumstances of which are still a mystery at this point), Jasper and Bella are developing a tentative friendship. They’re discovering things they have in common outside of their common connection to the Cullen family. We’re also slowly learning that other parts of their respective histories—aside from Jasper’s past with Alice and Bella’s with Edward—may have an impact on where their relationship goes from here. There seems to be a mutual attraction, but because of history and circumstance, they’re both hesitant to act on that. The slow burn is delicious.

The last chapter has me salivating for another update... which to me, is a sign of a great fic in the making. I highly recommend checking this out even if you're not a non-canon lover! How can you not think a B/J pairing is total win? Seriously, give it a chance!!
