An Undefined Affair by jayhawkbb

Official Description:

Bella, recovering from a broken heart, meets Edward, who isolates himself emotionally. Their attraction is immediate, but can they be friends and lovers – without the love? BxE, all the regs, some drama, some funny, lemony, language AH

You know that scene, that moment your stomach ends up in your throat, making you crave to read more? Welcome to An Undefined Affair, by jayhawkbb.

Let me introduce you to Ned and Stella. Yep, you read that right. Confused? That’s okay, that’s part of fun with these two. Edward is Executive VP for a Hale Software. He just doesn’t do relationships. Bella, an advertising agent, is recovering from a bad relationship.

“I want no-strings, fun, sexy times. If we continue this,” I say, pausing to wave my hand between us again like I did last night in the cab, “I don’t expect or want any of that hearts and flowers crap from you. You know, if we want to hang out, see each other, we can. If one of us is busy, no big deal. The only thing I don’t want is to be one of the harem. If there are going to be other women, I’m out.”

“There won’t be anyone else,” he says, looking back up and gazing at me with those intense green eyes.
“I think we should agree to be completely honest, then, and if one of us wants out, no hard feelings. If one of us meets someone else or something. I promise I will be honest with you. You can trust me,” I say, feeling tingly all over that he wants to continue having hot, crazy sex with me.
“I promise I will be honest with you, too. And you can trust me,” he says, smiling crookedly at me.
“So we agree? Monogamous fucking until one of us calls it off?” I ask.
“Agreed,” he answers, leaning in to kiss me again.

We all know how arrangements like that work out, don’t we? But who can say no to a man who can provide more orgasms in twelve hours than a vibrating Rabbit?

Their “relationship” is full of banter, tender moments, and amazing sex. It’s what women all over the world are searching for, but what exactly is it? Therein lies the problem. It’s undefined. Both deny the complicated nature of their affair, refusing to discuss what’s happening as the lines blur.

Lying to themselves, turns into lying to each other. One lie begets another, and another and soon, we have misunderstandings all over the place.

“I love you,” he whispers, then presses his lips softly against my neck and sighs.
Instead of inciting my own declaration of love, his words have little effect on me. I don’t believe him. I can’t allow myself to believe him. If he loved me, wouldn’t he have come after me when I left? We’ve been apart for over a month. He came to my apartment once, but that was it. No other visits. No phone calls. No texts. It’s been killing me to stay away from him. Wouldn’t he feel the same if he loved me? I just don’t think it’s true.
But even though I don’t believe him, I will allow myself to lie here with him for a little while and pretend it’s true.

And that turmoil is what leads us back to that heartbreaking moment that drew us in from the beginning.

Throughout AUA, Jayhawkbb reminds us that people don’t always do what they should, especially when emotions are involved. They are selfish, scared, and sometimes just plain stupid. But we fall in love with them just the same because they are also kind, loving and passionate. They are human.

There will be times you’ll want to slap them both and rip out your hair, but all in all, this is a love story that I highly recommend.

I don’t even know what to say about this story. I can’t tell you how much I love it–all of it. How real it is. The super hot lemons. The emotions. All of it.

Right from the very first chapter, this story drew me in.

“Can we share the cab, Bella?” he asks, standing right next to me, leaning down to speak quietly in my ear. I feel another shock run through my body – how does he do that?

“Sure. Where are you headed?” I ask, so I know if I should give my address first to the cab driver or not. I try to sound calm and composed, even though I’m not breathing all that well right now.

“I was hoping…your place,” he says huskily in my ear.

Oh, hell yeah.

This is one of my favorites. I think you’ll love it, too.
