Dandelion by Iwant2sparkle

Official Description:

Life always brings interruptions. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re bad. What matters is how you adapt to the changes. Little bit of fluff, little bit of drama. AH.

Don’t miss the outtakes, Weeds!

When I was asked to write a review for Dandelion by Iwant2sparkle, I was beyond honored. I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to do it justice. The story centers around a loving, down-to-earth Bella and her three-year-old nephew, Brandon. The opening scene sets the backdrop and relationship between Bella and Brandon so beautifully.

“Finish them.”

“No.”

“If you finish them, then you can go.”

“Noooooooo.”

“Fine. We’ll just sit here until you do. Would you like to move tables so that you don’t have to watch the other kids? I mean, since you aren’t going to finish your nuggets so you can play, too…”

“Hmmmph.” The little sandy-haired boy beside me crossed his arms and poked his bottom lip out as far as it would go.

“Be careful not to trip on that thing. I’d hate for you to get hurt.”

“La-Laaaaa,” he whined.

“I’m just sayin’.”

In the next few chapters, we meet one of my favorite Charlies, as well as the rest of our cast of characters. Charlie is a strong yet loving father and grandfather. While the pairing is listed as Bella & Edward, the story is truly Brandon’s. His situation struck such a chord with me due to my own family history that it left my heart aching.

Iwant2sparkle’s characters feel completely realistic to me, and I find myself cheering and crying right along with them. The relationship between Edward and Bella is a slow burn at first, showing how a single parent treads the dating waters carefully, while balancing her child’s place within that dynamic. Edward treats Brandon with as much love and enthusiasm as he does Bella, which just continues to prove how much he adores them both and wants to be part of their lives.

I completely adore how the angst in this story isn’t a product of Bella and Edward’s relationship; rather it stems from outside forces threatening to tear their little family apart. We’re just now hitting the angst-heavy/dramatic part of the story, and I literally drop everything when I see the newest Dandelion update.

If you give it a chance, I’m sure it’ll rock your world as well!
