Official Description: What if a person was broken beyond repair? So broken, that death was the only way out. Can love really heal everything? E/B OOC AH – M RATED

HunterHunting says: Woohoo! ::bounces up and down, clapping wildly:: How excited am I that Kassiah (Hi wifey) asked me to do this??? I can’t believe I get to pimp my girl Lambie. Okay. Dearly Departed. Fuck me. This is a dark and broken Bella. The prologue alone sucks you into the emotional hurricane that is the is disturbingly self-destructive Bella Swan/Izzy Dwyer. This poor girl has been through some serious shit and once you jump on the roller-coaster ride with her, there is no turning back. It’s angsty, and gritty and just fucking awesome.

“I left a part of myself in that apartment, the only part of myself I had left to give; my love. It just wasn’t enough to get me through, or enough to keep me alive. I wore his shirt and pulled it to my nose to breathe in his scent.
I wept, as I took the memory of them both with me to finish what I had started weeks ago.”

Right from the beginning we can see the inner turmoil that is literally tearing this Bella apart. But Lambie doesn’t just drop the bomb of information on us, oh no. She doles it out slowly, torturously, in the most deliciously angsty way. Piece by piece she unpack the past of our beloved broken Bella, pulling the reader into the devastation and the pain of what she has been through so we can both see and feel just how badly it has shattered her soul.
Not only do we have this tormented and beautifully written Bella that you can’t help but want to wrap your arms around and console indefinitely, but there is also DILFward. That’s right, single father and fuckh0t doctor Edward, with his cute-as-a-fucking-button son Jackson arrive on the scene to steal our hearts as well. His past, while not nearly as horrifying as Bella’s is still heart-wrenching and you can’t help but feel, as a reader, that these two are just meant to heal each others emotional wounds.
I adore the way Lambie has managed to break the mold with her characters, defying their conventional roles, and forcing us to see them differently. You’ll feel things for and about the characters you never would have thought possible. I especially love what she’s done with Alice and I can’t wait until she uncovers the spin she’s put on the rest of the Cullen clan. This fic pwns me, as does Lambie. I am her h00r.

MF’er says: Wait wait wait… I thought *I* was her hoor. Damn! Well, if I’m gonna give up the title, it may as well be the queen of Tattward’s. It’s no lie that I’ve been fangirling lambie since I started reading Wreckage and fell in love with it. She has continued her excellent writing with Landscapes and now has moved on to Dearly Departed, which is definitely a different kind of fic than she has written before; but it’s still just as powerful. She has a way of bringing the emotions out between these two and showing us both of their troubled pasts. I can’t wait to see where she goes with this and brings these characters together.

mozzer0906 says: Wow, I think hunterhunting really said it all didn’t she? I couldn’t agree more with her review. This fic is dark and devastating at points, yet I always felt the central theme of hope surrounding them – hope these two broken individuals can find peace within each other. Lambcullen’s writing is superb and her characterizations are so strong and multi-faceted. You never doubt the magnitude of their emotions because they are relayed to you so well through the beautiful prose. This is some of the best angst I have read in the fandom and with each click of the next button I was craving more.
