Official Description: Bella Swan needs a Nanny. Edward Cullen needs a job. Accepting the Manny position will change his life forever…and may just help him grow up in the process. Snark, humor, lemons and Edward in a towel. Seduction has never been so juvenile. AH/AU

manyafandom says: Eight Days a Week; I looo-oo-oove you (lame Beatles joke, I know). But I really do love this story. It’s fluffy, sweet and steamy and has just a touch of the angst. The angst and back story of the characters is handled well and enhances the story. I’m not gonna say any more than that, because it would give it away.
Edward, the slacker, is the new “Manny” for Bella’s kids; Bree and Brady. The story follows his adventures and misadventures with the kids; his commentary on today’s children shows is priceless. And his pursuit to nail his boss, Bella. Well at first he wants to nail his boss, but as the story progresses, things change, feelings change. It’s quite lovely actually. These four are exactly what the others need. The need each other at a base level that they aren’t even aware of, as family. Edward grows up, while keeping his mischievousness, and realizes what’s been missing in his life, Bella and her kids and the sense of belonging they give.
That sweetness aside, Edward and Bella are insanely attracted to each other. Edward’s little Edward, lovingly nicknamed “Don” definitely wants some of Bella. But it’s not that simple, as these things never are. Le sigh.
Most of all, this story is funny. I gigglesnort often at Edward’s antics and the situations he gets himself into. The levity balances out the moments of heaviness that are inherent given the situation that they all find themselves in.
Eight Days a Week is beautifully written and the story engaging while not being overly dramatic. It’s a lovely, funny ride, plain and simple.
Kassiah says: Like manyafandom said, Eight Days a Week is a fun, happy story. In a ffic world that seems to be teeming with angst and heartfail, I find it refreshing to get this update in my box whenever it comes. It’s funny, but not in a crackficy way. It’s sweet and romantic, but still so real.
Never in my life had I had been so ready to walk out and been unable to. One thing was for sure: those kids needed me.
I stood back from the bag and placed my gloved hands on my thighs, bent over at the waist, taking in gulps of air and shaking with anger. I didn’t even hear anyone; I just felt eyes watching me. I spun around, my whole body on alert, and I watched as Bella descended the stairs completely, standing small and frail next to the wall.
I must have looked half crazed because she seemed legitimately afraid of me.
“What?” I snapped, unable to keep the venom out of my tone.
She bit her lip and looked down. I moved to turn off the radio and she looked back up petulantly. She swallowed hard and raised her hands in surrender. “I…I,” her cheeks were bright red as her eyes roamed across my form, resting on my chest and sliding down my abs. Any other time that would have made my cock twitch, but I was having a serious problem with getting my anger in check.
“You, what?” I crossed to her, slowly taking off my gloves and throwing them on the couch as I passed by it.
Bella pressed her back into the wall as I approached, like I was a lion stalking its prey. She lifted her chin as I stopped just shy of her, less than a foot between us. “I left work early to make dinner so that I could meet you at Brady’s practice.”
I rested one arm against the wall next to her head and ground my teeth together, my jaw flexing. “The ball practice that made him have a nuclear meltdown?”
“He did?” She whispered, staring at my mouth as I spoke.
“He hates it.”
“I didn’t know. They’re more open with you than they are with me. I think they trust you…”
I leaned closer and she lifted her eyes to mine. “Maybe you should ask. They are more than happy to tell you anything you’d like to know. Except what the hell has happened to them. No one will tell me that.” Something flashed behind her eyes and her face leaned towards me just the slightest bit.
“You owe me an explanation, Bella.”
“I know,” she breathed. “Just not while they’re here, okay?” Her tongue flicked out and ran across
her bottom lip, moistening the skin and making it gleam in the light. “You’re really protective of them already, huh?”That took me by surprise. I didn’t love anyone, really. But these kids were the closest things I had to making me feel…something. And I was protective of them for some odd reason.
I was their guardian now.
“They need someone like you,” she said softly and I swallowed thickly at the realization.
“Yeah?’ I asked, my voice barely registering as she nodded yes. I met her eyes with mine again.
“And you?”
She let out a small whimper and moved minutely, her lips so close to mine that I could almost taste her.
Yeah, I stopped it right there. I really love this story, and not just because it’s hot and makes me smile. It gives me a newfound appreciation for stay-at-home moms. And for homemade birthday cake. That’s all I’m saying *wink*
