Edward’s internal struggles of grappling with this realization are well written; TrampyVampies brilliantly shows the dichotomy of being a liberal open minded individual while grappling with the fear of defining yourself as a homosexual. The author writes with such vivid detail it enables you to feel every breath, hear every scratch of the cheek and locks you into the story completely. This story consumed me from the very first chapter. I feel EtO is an accurate depiction of the concerns and difficulties that occur as you come to terms with the realization that you may be gay, packaged up in beautiful prose and a winning internal monologue from Edward. The entire story thus far is written in EPOV, however I feel that you do not suffer from the lack of JPOV. The author writes the details of Jasper’s facial expressions, body language and actions so well you feel as if you know what Jasper is thinking as well as you do Edward. This story is easily in my top five “drop everything and read” list of fics.
MF’er says: I just wanted to throw in my support for EtO as well. I am definitely hooked on this fic (Thanks to Mozzer and Hope). It seems so real to me. She has managed to write an amazing story of someone going through figuring out how they feel about someone else. She has captured the internal battle they face when the feelings they have don’t necessarily coincide with what they think is right. I just know this will continue to be an amazing journey for both characters as they continue to learn about themselves and each other.
