My first reaction when asked to do this review was WTF? Me? I’m honored to pimp a story that I love so much, but my heart is beating furiously.
Edward is a college student, new in town, with only his hand for company. He’s unsure of himself and has an obsession with Lacoste polos. SingleStrand brings her characters to life through EPOV. His inner dialogue immediately draws you in. You root for him from the start.
Edward has admired Riley and Jasper from afar for months and they become acquaintances. They work at his favorite coffee shop and are included in his spank bank of visuals that he enjoys every day (and night). Edward wanks a lot. Yum.
Riley and Jasper are in their early-twenties, have longer hair, wear thrift shop tees and torn jeans.
Jasper in his blue-eyed, dimpled-smile goodness wears a leather cord around his neck and a silver ring on his thumb. SingleStrand’s Jasper makes my mouth water. I have a soft spot in my heart and a tingle down south for a hot, cocky Jasper. Hard’s Jasper is all that, and more.
Riley is gorgeous, with dark hair and eyes. He’s the strong, silent type and a freak in the sheets kinda guy.
Jasper’s teases Edward with his dirty talking charm and it intensifies. They all go out one night and Jasper turns up the heat. Edward notices subtle behaviors that tell him Jasper and Riley are a couple, yet Jasper propositions him. Edward is interested…and confused.
“I pull myself together just long enough to whisper “What about Riley?”
“Riley? Edward, don’t you worry about Riley. He’s wanted to suck your dick for so long, he’s in pain. Haven’t you noticed the kid can barely look at you?”
“I guess, I mean I thought he was shy. Aren’t you guys together? Like together together?” All I can think about is Riley blowing me. Come to think of it, the boy’s mouth was made to be fucked.
“Of course we’re together. That goes without saying. But we’re not always exclusive, and we’ve been searching for just the right third to add to our fun.” Jasper is leaning in again, and I find my resolve fading quickly.
“So, he would be okay with th-this?” I’m trying to wrap my head around an open relationship like theirs, but it’s really hard to do, especially when my dick is straining to get out of my pants.
As Jasper starts to trail feather-light kisses over my neck and around my earlobe, he whispers, “He’ll be so okay with this that he’ll wish he was in here too.”
In this story we see the pros and cons of Edward’s decision. Can he do this? What happens if feelings get involved?
Hard will leave you hungry for more and has lots of surprises along the way. Go. Run. Read. You’ll love it. (And when you get a strong craving for Pringles after reading Chapter 10, don’t say I didn’t warn you!)
