Giselle-lx describes what happened to the Cullens upon leaving Forks through the inner voices of Edward and Carlisle. On many occasions I’ve pondered what Edward felt and went through during his absence in New Moon – this fic seems to hit upon so many of those perceptions perfectly – but Carlisle’s inner voice is the reason this fic has completely enraptured me. The heart-wrenching detail with which she writes of Carlisle’s struggles, coming to terms with the pain his son is feeling and the state the Cullen clan is in, is nothing short of astounding. Have a box of tissues on hand – and no, I don’t mean a tissue or a few tissues, I mean an entire box because you’ll need it. This is another absolute must-read on my recommendation list for anyone – especially those who are just getting into the fandom.
Kassiah says: Everyone who knows me knows that I usually stay far, far away from angst and heartfail and E/B separation. But I am telling you right now, read. this. story. Heartwrenching and beautifully written do not begin to describe this fic. The emotions that Giselle has portrayed by not only Edward and Carlilse, but the entire Cullen clan, are so realistic and really add a level of understanding to the utter loss, devastation, and encompassing hopelessness they all felt upon leaving Forks. If you are like me, you will need some tissue to get through even the first few chapters, but trust me, it is totally worth the angst. Definitely should be at the top of your must-read list, seriously.
