Saranic says: I can’t remember where or how I found the story Just Wait, but I was so happy I did. This story is extremely well written. The author, InstantKarmaGirl, has done an amazing job of storytelling. Let me warn you, there are some issues of abuse, it won’t be detailed or graphic, but it is in the story and necessary. Bella is a girl who hasn’t had an ideal life; she has been dealt a rough hand and acts towards life with the same feelings. She has learned to cope with self medicating and rebelling any way she can. She is forced to move in with Charlie after committing a serious offense. Bella’s character has a lot of growing to do and is very rough around the edges.
Once she moves to Forks, she befriends Jacob, who enables her to continue her past behaviors. Jacob’s character isn’t a dislikeable character, but he isn’t doing Bella any favors.
Edward has some major issues of his own, which are impossible for him to hide. He has a brilliant mind, but his language and speech issues force him to be a social outcast. He is picked on and struggles with communicating. I have to say it is refreshing for a change to see such a vulnerable Edward with flaws. I love my strong Edward, and I feel that this one is dealing with what he deals with, but he does have some issues that make the reader so sympathetic for him.
Bella and Edward meet in school where Bella witnesses Edward suffering through a normal day. They get a chance to become closer as part of an agreement to participate in therapy. This therapy consists of one on one therapy, group time, and also partner interaction. Bella and Edward are paired together. We are getting to see Edward coming out of his shell around Bella, while Bella shows compassion and defends Edward.
This story is very much angsty and is written so well. I was sucked in while reading and am looking forward to these two healing each other. If you like teenage angst and a unique Edward and Bella, I would highly recommend this story.
Kassiah says: I love high school fics, so when one of my very favorite people, bsmog, told me about this story, I jumped on it. She did warn me about the angst and heartfail, but like a fool, I didn’t listen. I am kinda glad that I didn’t.
Just Wait is not your typical hs story. It has your far from typical Bella and Edward as well. The story begins with us listening to a phone convo in which Renee tells Charlie that it’s “his turn” to take Bella, and if he doesn’t, her only other options are jail or a half-way house. Like I said, it’s a far cry from our usual self-sacrificing Bella going to live with her excited-to-finally-get-his-girl-home father. She has issues. Edward has issues too, but not in the bad-boy kinda way.
This story is so well-written and just outright real, I don’t have the words to express why you should read it. I am not gonna lie to you, though, it is nothing like the fun smexy hs fics you have come to expect me to recommend to you. Why do I love it? Besides the total genius and characterization that InstantKarmaGirl puts into practically every word, it allows me to feel justified in my severe dislike for Jacob. And like Saranic said, it is also so different to see a vulnerable Edward. This story just draws you in. I am very interested to see where this leads.
If you aren’t a total wussperv like me and can handle some angst or if you want a story that is real and compelling, I think you should check out Just Wait.

Hey, it is a really great story. You know it got made into a book? I don’t know the name and I can’t find it nowhere because she has nothing on her page anymore. If you know what it is called and where I can buy it, can you please send me the info. Thanks.
