This is not your SMeyer vampire Edward by any stretch, her Edward may be one of the darkest I’ve come across in the fandom…and he completely pwned me. I’ve come to the realization that while canon Edward certainly has his perks, there is something all the more alluring in the idea of vampire Edward as the bad boy. Adding in the extra layer that drinking blood can be sexually arousing to both vampire and victim makes this one-shot stick out in my mind as the hottest bite scene I’ve ever read. Perhaps it is because I’m so entrenched in True Blood right now, but I imagined her Edward very much like Eric Northman, with that same arrogant swagger and oozing sexuality – the kind of man who makes you weak in the knees by doing very little. He makes no apologies for who he is, there is none of that canon vampire guilt, he revels in it and so in turn you are completely and madly in love with this character. In one short one-shot HourofLead was able to create a world that I was completely drawn into, an Edward I wished would be written about more often in the fandom and had me scrambling to get my hands on Darkward recs for the future. The plot that she used was also very well thought out and a very interesting twist of vampire lore. I would easily rank it as one of my all time favorite one-shots. I highly recommend you visit this Darkward and soon – in fact go to the top of this recommendation and click on the link. Then come back and give me more Darkward recs that are even half as amazing as this one and I’ll forever give you my thanks.

Like mozz said, this is a very different, very dark, very fuckhot Edward. I just can’t explain to you the intricacy and beauty of this story. While I didn’t love some of his language, the action and the plot was so amazing. The dialogue is just enough to keep you hanging on every syllable. The detail that HourofLead puts into everything that is going on is absolutely amazing. This is one of my favorite parts:
