Like Crazy is a story about two unlikely friends, complete opposites in every way. Edward has piercings and tats everywhere; Bella is straight-laced. He doesn’t have a steady job; she’s a doctor and a teacher. So what could possibly bring these two together? Their sense of humor. Their humor bonds them and creates a fantastic, silly friendship between them.
This is the first fic for author willyoupleasebequiet, and for a newbie, she has some outstanding talent. She was inspired to write this fic after reading WhatsMyNomDePlume’s The Best I Ever Had. So it has a similar style and feel. The beginning of each chapter goes back and forth in time explaining how Edward and Bella met and how their friendship came to be. Which, by the way, is a hilarious story involving a hamster and a bus. The ending of each chapter in italics is the present, their friendship transforming into more, much more. So each chapter brings the pieces of the puzzle together explaining their past and bringing it forward to the present. And it all ties together into a beautiful love story between the best of friends.
Willyoupleasebequiet has an incredible talent for writing dialogue. The characters she has developed are witty and hilariously funny. And the dialogue that fires from her character’s mouths feels so real.
“Speaking of teenage boys,” Edward mumbled with a mouthful of apple and swallowed before continuing. “When are you going to show me your boobs?”
“In a sec. Let me just finish this level.”
“Really?”
“No.” Bella replied firmly, but she’s smiling down at the enraged hogs. “Could you BE any more of a creep?”
“Nice,” Edward said appreciatively. He held his fist up near his shoulder and Bella bumped him back in return.
You will fall head over heels in love with her Edward. He has a keen, quirky sense of humor, and he’s an incredible best friend to Bella. And he has difficult demons from his past. And when you read Edward’s thoughts in italics when their friendship begins to bloom into love, it will melt your bones.
I sit up so I’m on my knees and snake an arm around her waist, pulling her up with me. I want her closer.
I duck my head down, my mouth against her nipple and she groans my name, running her hand through my hair and it’s like she electrocuted my scalp – if electrocution felt so good. She meets me thrust for thrust, and I’m mumbling about how good it feels against her chest.
She tugs on my hair again, bringing me back to her mouth. She kisses the hell out of me and it feels like there isn’t enough skin or enough time, for the lost years that our lips are trying to make up for as they find each other.
So go now and fall in love with this fic like I did. It’s a short read; a mere 14 chapters. And I guarantee you will be happy that you did.
This story is sweet and fun and happyfluff. I love it, and I think you will too.
