Let me tell you, I’m already falling for this story, hard. I’m anxious to see where this goes and watch as Edward faces his battle against cancer with Jasper at his side. It looks like it will be an amazing journey.
Mozzer0906 says: I’ll start by saying that cancer is part of my everyday life. Beyond working in cancer research, I’ve watched my father win a battle with cancer, but lose the war. I’ve stood by my mother, two of my brothers, and my best friend during their fights with cancer. Why am I getting so personal here? Well, because for me this fic is personal; it taps into something raw and deep for me. I’ll admit I was hesitant to read this because reading a fic involving something you know so intimately can either be fantastic or a disaster. I’m happy to say that I thought this was fantastic. As told from EPOV you feel the despair and longing he feels through naelany’s words; you see the reactions of Carlisle and Jasper through Edward’s eyes and both hit the mark perfectly – the father who is hiding his pain behind the clinical discussions – the friend who is devastated, but fighting not to show it. Before you run screaming for the hills thinking this will be something dark and depressing – I don’t think that at all. I think the subject matter is depressing, I think tears will likely be shed, but I know naelany will take that subject matter and turn it into something about hope and love and the power these two feelings have over all of us. My seat belt is buckled and I’m ready for the ride.
