Love Like Winter is Beauty and the Beast meets Twilight. Bella feels stuck in the small town of Forks and plans to travel to Europe. Edward is hiding from everyone in his family home after a supposed robbery gone wrong left his parents dead and his face covered in scars. On her way out of town, Bella makes a wrong turn and gets caught in a snow storm. She’s forced to seek help at the Cullen mansion, but because of the storm and the isolated location Bella is stuck there for the winter. Jasper, Edward’s friend and gardener, befriends Bella and welcomes her where as Edward is not so accommodating. Of course they hate each other right away but they can’t seem to ignore the pull they have towards each other. Edward is very much a cocky arrogant guy with a troubled past and Bella is a feisty, caring and curious girl. It’s fun to watch them navigate through intense moments, arguments and their mounting feelings for each other. With Edward’s short temper and Bella’s curiosity, it gets interesting fast.

[dcs_p]“I…” Bella stuttered. “I heard…” The newspaper she’d been holding fell from her fingers and fluttered towards the ground.[/dcs_p]

[dcs_p]“I’m sorry…I…” She shook her head.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“Can’t you just leave me the fuck alone? Get out! Just get out of my house!” I grabbed my lamp and launched it at the floor. It crashed against it and exploded into pieces. I heard her breath hitch in her throat as she stared between me and the glass pieces. And then she bolted.[/dcs_p]
MandyLeigh87 has this amazing ability of drawing you in right away and you can’t help but sit back and enjoy the ride. She bounces between points of view from chapter to chapter so you get full picture of what’s going on. There’s a good balance between the obvious drama with romance and humor.

[dcs_p]“Good morning.”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“Good morning,” Edward said, stepping into the room.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“Good morning.” Jasper eyed the two of us suspiciously and took a sip of his coffee before he spoke. “Do I need to Lysol something?”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“Excuse me?” I asked.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“The only good morning from Edward is when he got laid the night before.”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]Edward snorted from his seat at the table.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“He did not get laid.” I turned towards Edward. “You did not get laid.” I turned back towards Jasper. “He did not get laid.” I don’t know why but I still felt like we got caught. I could almost feel my face turning red.[/dcs_p]
While there are no singing candlesticks or talking teapots, she has put her own spin on some of the trademark moments from the Disney movie (which made me giddy). I dare you to try and not sing a Disney song.
So go check out Beastward and his Bella, you won’t be disappointed.
I would always see this get rec’d on Edwardville and after finding out that it was Beauty and the Beast-inspired, I had to jump all over it.
Right from the beginning, what happened to Edward is a mystery:
[dcs_p]“I heard he’s a basket-case,” Alice whispered, glancing quickly over at the blonde guy coming towards us.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“He sends that guy into town every now and then to get him things, but I heard he like…never leaves the house. I heard he’s like…deformed or something.”[/dcs_p]
I don’t know how realistic I think the premise that gets Bella to the house is, but after getting over that, I really like this story. I like their characters and am excited to see where MandyLeigh87 takes them. They really connect and she makes him want to be a better person.
[dcs_p]“When I was five I had to have my appendix removed.” She grabbed my finger and brushed it over her skin. I could feel a small pocket of raised skin. “I have them too. I mean I know they’re not like yours,” she mumbled. “But everyone has scars.”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]She pulled her hand away from mine, but I lingered on her stomach, running my finger over her scar. For some fucked up reason, it was comforting.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“You’re still beautiful…” I said.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“So are you.”[/dcs_p]
ngl, I’m still holding out hope that Lumière will show up and sing to Bella lol. Even if that never happens, I hope you check this story out.
