Major Misconduct by m7707

Official Description: Edward Cullen – hot high school hockey player. Bella Swan – shy high school student. They’ve admired each other from afar, so what happens when they finally meet? Will they be strong enough to handle a threat from his past? No good deed goes unpunished…

Recently, there have been a few “Hockeywards” gracing our monitors. That’s one thing I love about this fandom—we get a few stories that hit around the same time with a similar thread, but such different takes on the subject that they are still viable.

Major Misconduct would be the High School side of Edward in skates, and it’s adorable.

When Alice tells her BFF Bella that she has been dating a new fella, Bella is shocked to learn the guy is Jasper—the buddy of the guy (Edward, of course) that she has been crushing on since she was a freshman, but who has ran in separate circles from her until the first day of Bella’s junior year in high school. They have a class together, and end up talking. With Alice and Jasper a couple, they have more time to get to know each other and for the crush to grow a little stronger. Edward is sweet, popular and a star of the school’s hockey team. What’s a girl to do when her crush plays a sport she knows nothing about? Hit the internet for books, movies and all things hockey, of course.

As the relationship between the two builds, so does the UST. In wonderful ways. Want to know more? I’m not telling; you have to read to find out. Dew eet, you know you wanna. :)

M7707’s writing is crisp, clean and uncluttered. It gets to the point, keeping the story rolling with chapters that read easily and keep you engrossed with funny lines, great dialogue and relatable characters. The story is told through BPOV, which is nice. You get to wonder along with her about Edward’s motivations and actions, building the story in a fun way. There is comedy—Bella’s thought processes are hilarious, and the conversations between the girls are a riot. There is also a sweet romance that feels natural and well-paced.

High school stories are, for me, hit and miss. Sometimes the kids seem too old and don’t always ring true. When I was in high school, my worries were far simpler: were my clothes in style, was my hair cool, what was everyone doing on Friday night, and did the boy of my dreams like me? One of the things I most like about m7707’s story is that her Bella worries about these things in a believable way. We’ve all made fools of ourselves talking to a cute boy, and Bella is no exception to this rule.

“What’s that?” I whispered, nodding toward the marks, unable to contain my curiosity. He glanced up at me sharply, and I blushed – yet again – in embarrassment. “I’m sorry, that’s really rude. I wasn’t snooping, I was just…”

“Relax, Bella,” he murmured back. “They’re not gang signs or anything.”

I was drowning in embarrassment. “Really, sorry…”

Those green eyes seemed to search my face. “You do that too much.”

Was I drowning before? Now I was positively wallowing. “I know,” I admitted miserably. “It’s the bane of my existence. I’ve always been an easy blusher.”

His mouth curved up on one side. I made a frantic note to never be funny in front of him, ever, as my focus zeroed in on that mouth and heat curled through my insides. Everything else faded.

“No,” he said, “not your blushing, although that’s pretty cute. You apologize too much.”

“Sorry.” It came out automatically. Wait…what? Did he just say I was cute? Am I thrilled or offended?

I cringe for her!

If you are looking for an awesome read, something to keep you entertained as the summer months roll in and the days are lazy and warm, you should read this story. I’m in love with it already, and I want you to be, too. Go read and leave her some love; you won’t be sorry!

I think it’s pretty safe to guess that everyone knows that I love highschool fics. They are my absolute favorite. There’s just something about being able to realistically believe you’re invincible.

Major Misconduct is a great story that has an amazing Edward and Bella *gasp!* in high school. One of the things that I really love about this fic is that it’s just so real> These kids have typical issues like whether or not someone likes them and if they’ll be embarrassed by their older brother showing their parents their condom stash, rather than helping their BFF go to rehab undetected or if their mom is going to fuck their intended. It’s refreshing, honestly.

My eyes immediately went to Edward, his tall form and bright, unruly hair unmistakable. He wasn’t completely dressed in his full uniform – he didn’t have his skates or all of his pads on yet. He walked out onto the ice and gave me a smirk before turning his attention to the stick he held in his hands and the puck he dropped on the ice. I watched, mesmerized, as he started playing keep-away with one of his teammates that had come out with him and was clad in a similar manner. He barely moved his body, the blade of his stick flashing in a blur as he flicked the puck around – underneath him, the other player, between their legs, around their feet. The stick and his hands were constantly in motion. They were both laughing as the speed of the blade and the puck increased, and finally the other guy pushed him and walked away, shaking his head. His teammate had never even come close to the puck.

He looked up at me again and winked, walking out a little further onto the ice before turning and facing the boards in the corner, where the plexiglass reached far above our heads. He swung and hit the puck, playing kind of a one person rebound, like hitting a tennis ball against the wall. The puck hit the boards and flew into the air, sliding up along the plexiglass and shooting up into the air, only to arc up over the ice to fall at his feet. I couldn’t see it at all; I had no idea how he could follow it. I saw him looking at me out of the corner of his eye, and he started catching the puck on the blade of his stick as it sailed through the air back toward him, flipping it and then catching it again on the other side. Oh yeah, he was showing off, all right. He grinned, cocking his brow arrogantly at me before half-jogging, half-sliding across the ice, hopping over the wall and heading back into the locker room.

This fic is very sweet and fun, and with hockeyward, you know you can’t go wrong. Check it out ;)

This is one of my favorite stories. I’m on a “Hockeyward” fetish after reading Hunterhunting’s “The Misapprehension of Bella Swan” story and started looking for more of those types. I started reading “Major Misconduct” a few weeks ago, it was only about maybe 16 chapters posted, and I absolutly fell in love with it. I can’t seem to get enough of it.

The writing is wonderful and you can really get a feel on what the writer is trying to get across. The details in it is simply amazing. You actually can see through the character’s eyes. I hope everyone reads this story because it is well worth it!
