Official Description: Written for the LJ TwiGiftExc. Spending the summer after High School with her father Charlie, Bella finds herself beyond bored. To cure her boredom she gets a job & discovers that maybe Forks isn’t so bad after all. Rated M for smut/naughtiness BxE

Q&A with manyafandom:

If you got more than one prompt – why did you choose the prompt you did?
I received three prompts.

1.)An irate Edward calls into a customer service line when his cell completely dies. Who should answer his call but Bella? Fluffcity/ possible smut? AH preferably.

2.)Bella gets a new job at Newton’s. Edward works in the warehouse. Fluff/Smut?

3.)Driving home late one night, Bella gets a flat tire and slams into a silver volvo. She now spends her days (and nights) watching over Edward. Waiting for him to wake up? The extent of the injuries is up to you. Can he forgive her for what she’s done? (Yes?)

I picked the second one as it appealed to me the most. It had the most comedic possibilities without being too specific; douchey Mike, hot and sweaty Edward, bored Bella. What’s not to love?

Was this prompt out of your comfort zone as a writer? How so?
Not too much. It was AU-AH which is my bread and butter. The recipient wanted comedy and the only comedy I had ever done was unintentional and self depreciating, so that was a challenge for me. I wanted to try my hand at intentional comedy for this, do something different. I enjoyed it so much that I’m sticking to comedy for now on I think.

What was your favorite passage that you wrote in the fic?
Hmm…that is a tough one. Honestly, I love the whole thing and I usually HATE my own writing. Lets see, some that stand out are:

“The thrill of having an empty house and the opportunity to masturbate whenever I wanted had worn off after a week or so when my girly bits started to get friction burns.”

“This man was fucking sex on a stick. My girly bits screamed at me to just jump on him and wrap my arms and legs around him so I could rub up against him till our clothes wore away from the friction. And after our clothes were gone, I wanted to give him a bath … with my tongue.”

Did you know the person you were writing this for prior to receiving the prompt? If you did know them – did their likes and dislikes influence the plot choices you made? How so? If you did not know them did you just write the fic the way you wanted to or did you make any effort to get to know them?
I did know my original recipient a bit from the Twilighted boards. Not really, we have similar tastes so I knew what I like she would probably like.

How long did this take to write? Did you write it at the same time as your other fic(s) or did you put them on hold in order to finish this? Has this influenced your other fics at all?
I started it at least ten times. When I sat down to actually write it took me a day, which is par for the course with me. I didn’t really put my others on hold, but the deadline was always there in the back of mind. It has, I think I go out on a comedic limp a bit more now, tying to infuse a bit of the funny into my writing. An example would be my Parkaward entry, without the gift exchange fic I would never have done funny like that.

Why did you choose the prompts you gave the author who wrote your fic? Were these ideas you had for yourself or just fics you wanted to see written?
I choose Nessie prompts. I’m not a big fan of Nessie, but I am a big fan of Daddy Edward. I felt that there was a missed opportunity in BD for Stephanie Meyer to show us Daddy Edward. I wanted that. Nope, fics I wanted to see written.
I was blown away by my gift. Smellyia went above and beyond my prompts and delivered something truly beautiful and touching.

Would you do it again?
Sure, it was fun!

MF’er says:
Ah, I just love this Bella… Seriously, I’m a fan of strong, confident, FUNNY Bella – and that’s totally what this girl is. See?

“If I had to see Phil’s hairy ass one more time, I was going to take some wax to his cheeks in the middle of the night.”

So after the ass incident there… Bella moves to Forks and decides that she needs a job (after abusing her girly parts), which leads her to Newton’s Sporting Goods. So, on her first day of work – who walks through the door? Instagasm. Mr. Fuck Me Now Please. God’s gift to Bella’s girly bits… things seem to be going well until Mike ‘Cockhat’ Newton shows up and rains on the girly bits parade. Fucker.

Sex on legs blushes, BLUSHES. *thud* and… he’s a nerdy programmer with adorkable glasses… I have a soft spot for Nerdward (hell, I married one). Hopey channeled him excellently and I’m squeeing hard that she decided to continue this because I was about to beg her for more if there wasn’t a second chapter already. ;)

Kassiah says: Any story that starts off with “Fuck. My. Life.” is just fab in my book. Add fuckawesome Manyafandom to the mix, and what you’ve got is total epic win.

Maybe Forks Isn’t So Bad After All is an amazing story with believable characters. This Edward has to be one of my absolute favorites. Adorkable, with the black glasses and chucks. I am not kidding, if the chucks were red (rather than black), I would not be responsible for my actions. He was a geek. Geeky in a complete melty, goo-worthy and damn sexy way that made my girly bits rejoice and sing Halle
lujah.”

I even love this Bella. Snarky, with great descriptions of Edward: sex on a stick, orgasm on legs, ‘Mr. Fuck Me Now Please’, ‘Instagasm’, ‘Mr. Tall, Pale and Cream-worthy’, and Ruiner of my Panties. Her inner monologue is just awesome.

The characterizations are amazing. The dialogue is win. The incessant ramblings of Alice are just spot on. And it is one of the most real Esmes that I have ever seen. You have to check this out. Right now.

mozzer0906 says: This Bella is one of the gals I’d like to take out, get tipsy and have her just unleash her snarky goodness on me. One of my favorite things is her nicknames she comes up with for those in her life, which will often make you laugh out loud. I am also drawn into the enigma that appears to be Mike Newton, at first you think you have him pegged and then you aren’t so sure what is going on with him. This Edward is adorkable to the highest degree. This fandom needs more adorkable Edwards! He makes me smile and feel happy when I read about him. I was so thrilled to know that she will continue this fic in the future because it is very well done. I look forward to reading more about these two in the future. This is the perfect fic to enjoy on a day when you really need some fun.
