LaViePastiche says: Fresh off the heels of her fuckawesome horror story, Toye, bratty-vamp is back with My Escort. We’re four chapters in and so far it’s highly entertaining, just as you’d expect. The story is funny, unique and features a hilarious and very sexy Jasper in leather pants. IN CHAPTER ONE. Before I go on – because the rest of this review will be about Jasper – Yes, Edward is the main dude, and the pairing is E/B. It’s basically about Edward losing his partial scholarship due to the fact that his high school sweetheart, Angela Weber (snicker, I know right? I love when authors mix it up) dumped his ass, and her daddy’s church was paying the scholarship. Now he’s hard up for dough and his fuckhot, rich, stoner roommate (JASPER) suggests that he apply to work at Onyx, an “upscale” escort service which Jasper also works for – and…dun dun dun…where Bella works as well, not as an escort, but as one of the boss ladies. So they….they um…uh….where was I? Sorry, I got side-tracked thinking about robbing a bank so that I would have enough money to buy Jasper and make him do all kinds of things that violate all kinds of city ordinances….

Anyway, the story’s got humor, an interesting plot, it will have romance for sure, and since it’s bratty, I would assume some interesting twists. Though it’s only 4 chapters in, I have no concern about rec’ing it because she never fails to produce a quality fic. My only personal concern is that this will likely end in canon pairings – which, for me, means the heartfail will be comparable to that of The Best Man. Heh. I kid. Mostly. But I know that MOST people are canon fans and either way BV will do Jasper, and the rest of the characters, mad justice.

MF’er says: I was *so* excited to see another story from Bratty-Vamp. I fell in love with The Best Man and have heard such great things about Toye… I knew this one would be just as great as what we’ve come to expect from her. We’re still in the beginning stages here, but the possibilities for what’s to come are excellent and already, I am loving her Edward and kinda want to ask Jasper to escort me somewhere, anywhere… just as long as he wears the leather pants. LaVie pretty much said it all when it comes to the fuckhotness of this Jasper… just go read it because you won’t be disappointed!

She creates this rich, multi-leveled world that you are drawn into and you want to know more about these people and their journey.

I was a bit concerned about the premise of male escort because I didn’t want another Edward-is-a-manwhore type of fic in my inbox, but I trusted brattyvamp to move away from the cliché and into a much more vibrant and interesting world. She did this and more. As usual, I am completely drawn into what will happen next as the sort of everyman Edward tries to become escort extraordinaire and what Bella is going to do to get him there. I really like her Bella as she is strong and self-assured, but without being a ball-busting bitch.

BrattyVamp is not only an amazing writer, she is an even more amazing person and this directly reflects in her work. The realness she puts into her characters and story just make me want to read more and more from her. And with each new story, she shows you something a little different while always keeping one thing constant….her characters are all inherently good. (Ok so maybe not the bad-boy vamps of Toye….but you know what I mean.) So since guest reviewer LaViePastiche spelled out the premise of My Escort for you, I’ll just fill in the holes that her Jasper addled brain conveniently left out specifically….how totally amazing this Edward is. Well, if you are familiar with BrattyVamp’s writing you already know that she writes awesome Edwards….well all her characters are awesome, but her Edward’s truly rise above the rest. This Edward is a small town sweetie. His boyish charm, coupled with his sincere demeanor are about to take on the elite woman of Los Angeles! I am in love with him already and just can’t wait to see how he is going to pull this off.
