Official Description: Based in Brooklyn. Edward and Jasper are brothers, each dealing with grief, ego, passion, and the clash between fame and the pursuit of true art. This is a love story of Bella and Jasper, a lust story of Bella and Edward, and a journey for all.

LaViePastiche says: I found Neverending Math Equation kind of haphazardly when I was doing a fic-dive for The Lazy, Yet Discerning Ficster. It was a Jasper-centric fic dive, and at the time I found it, it had a mere twelve or so reviews for five or six chapters.
Jasper is an artist who also owns a tattoo shop, Edward is some kind of math/musical genius who can’t seem to pull his life together, and Bella owns a bakery across the street from Jasper’s apartment and shop. Bella and Jasper have been friends for years, and Jasper’s been carrying a very well-hidden torch for most of that time. Edward comes to stay with Jasper, eventually meets Bella, and boom, these two kind-of-fucked-up brothers find themselves in a love-triangle with a kind-of-fucked-up girl.
A lot of hair-pulling is inherent in reading any love triangle, but I happen to enjoy things that make me rip my hair out – so if you’re going to read it, you probably should be the type to enjoy that, too. I think you’ll want to tear out your hair a lot of the time, regardless of who you are rooting for. There’s a lot of realism in this story and all the characters are seriously flawed – you gotta be okay with that to stomach this. For me, it’s the flaws that shape the characters, make me sympathize with them, and ultimately make me love them all, so I appreciate it.
Now, I’ll admit that this story can be a little hard to follow. Twanza’s style, while very smart and pretty, can be a little hard to navigate, but I still think it’s worth trying it on for size. If you don’t sweat the small details (of which there are many) and just keep reading, you’ll get the gist of what’s happening and, in the process, find yourself wrapped up in the story of Jasper, Edward, and Bella, and their crazy bunch of friends, which includes Jane and Laurent. The banter amongst these friends is super witty and smart, and it’s what really drew me into this story, along with her very attractive, fluid, descriptive writing style. She sets a scene well and always pulls me right in.
Oh, the supercalafragilistickexpialafuckhot Jasper doesn’t hurt either. Just sayin’.
Here’s a little taste of her fantastic writing, which I’ve nabbed from the prologue:
I met his blue eyes and they welcomed me vaguely in the reflection. I hadn’t seen him in four years. I wanted to lie down on the floor and cry on the vinyl tile like a five year old.I didn’t have anyone else.
I’d been shattered by Carlisle. I was nauseated by my neediness; my unimportance. The last leg in the triangle of my undoing was Jasper’s unwillingness to acknowledge me, and I felt it collapsing as I forced myself upon his intentionally separate life. We were still looking at each other in the mirror when his whole face broke into a grin.
I remember reading this bit and smiling to myself because after at least two hours of fic-diving, I’d finally found a gem. I hope you’ll enjoy it as well.
Kassiah says: Everyone who knows me knows that I can only handle E/B fics for the most part. But there is something about this story that called to me. I mean, MATH, come on? fuck yes I contacted the sweet twanza for clarification and hoping this was not, in fact, a Jasperella-fic. She sent me this amazing video:

So, yeah. I can’t read it, but I totally trust LVP’s judgment. If there was a Jasperella-fic that I was going to read, it would be this one. I think you should check it out.
