The world that LittleWing2 created in Order of the Seers is unique and intricate. She’s a master of descriptions which made me look at the world though her eyes. She pulled me into her vivid story from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. It’s an extremely well-written, engaging story that you’ll find yourself unable to stop reading.

Edward is a fierce protector of his younger sister, Alice, a Seer. Alice’s gift remained unknown to the Guild, which is a group of individuals tasked with capturing, controlling, and exploiting Seers for their talent. Their mother was also a Seer who stayed undetected and learned the Guild planned to take Alice. Esme made the ultimate sacrifice to keep her children away from harm. Edward and Alice traveled after her death to find Carlisle, a former scientist who studied Seers with their father years before, at a Commune full of social outcasts living at Fox River.

At the Commune, I found myself surrounded by an intense and often times hilarious cast of characters. They endeared themselves to me in a way that left me laughing, or at times yelling, at my computer as if they could hear me!

“So they’re freaks; we’re all freaks! If there is anyone here we should be suspicious of, Rosalie, it’s you! Anyone that wears that much lip gloss in a freakin’ COMMUNE can’t be trusted!”

“You know what… FUCK YOU, Seth!” she shouted.

Under the control of the Guild, Bella is emotionally withdrawn due to the horrors that surrounded the death of her family at the Guild’s hands. Although her ability as a Seer was strong, her connection to the pain she saw seemed to increase during sessions. Through her visions, she was able to focus on the pain of the victims and project these images out in gruesome detail.

My only power is to steal peace and create nightmares. They call me Shiva, the destroyer.

Regardless of the problems Bella caused, they were unwilling to part with her due to their greedy, power-hungry ways. They enlisted Marcus, the most powerful Seer in their arsenal, to teach her to harness her gift. Marcus and Bella became confidants, friends, and allies.

“I never knew I could do that, see…happiness, “she said softly as she stared into the rain, a small smile playing on her face.

Bella had a vision and longed for a future she never thought would be possible.

Green eyes beaming, staring down into hers.

Her brown eyes looking back at him in awe, in gratitude, in love.

“I love you,” he says with truth and promises dripping from every merry little syllable.

For the first time since her capture, Bella had a reason to dream of a better life for herself. She was left feeling a desire to find the man who filled her emptiness with hope and love.

“Marcus, I have to leave here. I need to know that this will work. What can I do? What can I do? I need to… I have to find him. He… he said loved me…”

Marcus and Bella escaped and found their way to the Fox River Commune. Edward was immediately enchanted by Bella but resisted his attraction to her, avoiding and distancing himself from her. Bella was quite the opposite; in fact, she was determined to seek him out and followed his actions. As Littlewing2 described, she was simply discovering life by following the bread crumbs he left behind. Bella desperately held onto her vision and asked for guidance from her friend.

“Help me, Marcus. I don’t understand what is happening, what I’m supposed to do.”

“You must learn to wait, Bella. That is all there is for now. He is a very nice young man, but he is still a boy in many ways. To protect his sister, he has learned to walk like a man, but I don’t think he was ready. Only a man can love a woman, Bella.”

Although Edward is captivated by Bella and hyperaware of her every move, he had a war raging inside himself, to balance his role as Alice’s protector versus allowing his attraction to Bella to flourish. The connection between them was undeniable… you’ll know what I mean once you read about Bella swimming at night in the Fox River while Edward watched over her. The UST in Order of the Seers will leave you begging for more, but more importantly, you’ll be cheering Bella on in her quest to win Edward’s heart while adjusting to a world she never thought she’d rejoin.

Life wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies at the Commune, however. They learned about a plot by the Guild to recapture the lost Seers and enslave them once again. They lead a quiet rebellion against the Guild and plan to put an end to the destruction they leave behind.
