AmeryMarie says: I found this fic in the siggy of my dear friend RowanMoon (grins widely…) and was absolutely blown away by the originality and fabulous writing. Set post Breaking Dawn, Purgatory melds Twilight with Dante’s Inferno, and expands the history of the vamps we are all so familiar with. Spaniard merges the two tales together seamlessly utilizing the seven original Cullen’s to represent each the seven deadly sins. The sins assigned to each character fit so well with canon, that I felt stupid for not making the correlation on my own. With her new family’s consent, Edward recounts to Bella the story of how each member of his family lived and came to be turned. The tragic tale she builds for each character combines canon with Spaniard’s own personal bend on the Twilight mythology. In doing so, she breathes new life into these long dead characters and gives them a depth that was, in my humble opinion, lacking in the series. The richly detailed back stories Spaniard has woven for each Cullen’s human life in conjunction with the added dimension of the seven deadly sins makes each characters story read like a parable and launches this story to a whole new level of fanfiction literature. The premise is completely intriguing and her execution nothing short of genius. The fact that this work of art was her first fanfic is impressive, but the fact that she did it without a technical beta is mind boggling and a true testament to her talent.
