Realize reminds me of two things:
1) How much I love the song “Sometime After Midnight” by Airborne Toxic Event
2) The Amazing Fic Summer that was 2008.
The fandom was a different time then. Not a lot of big stories out there. Realize was one of them. I remember the super heartfail chapter in which Gabby posted on an unsuspecting fandom and we tore our hair out; she got so crazy about our response that BAM, she posted the next (equally heartfail-y) chapter a couple of hours later.
We laughed that she did that; then we were all BRB READING. Then there were tears. Those of us who had her in gchat yelled in all caps asking- demanding- WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME FUCK YOU BUT I LOVE YOU.
Ahh, Realize. One of the only fics in my memory that stands out as an event rather than a simple story.
