Every once in a while a story comes around that I find by chance and it grabs my attention and i won’t let go. This is what happened when I was lucky enough to find Secrets, Lies, & Family Ties!

This story written by IdPattThat kept me up reading past midnight reading chapter after chapter. As an avid reviewer, I wanted badly to review every freaking chapter (I came in late to the game to this story) and stopped myself! I thought I would appear to be a stalker creep!

Yes… there have been similar stories on this vein, but this one seemed more real life. Nothing with these two is cut and dry in this story….duh…they never got over each other, but were both too stubborn to seek one another out.

SPOILER ALERT – this is a great line from the first chapter:

“Goodbye, Edward,” she whispered and then turned abruptly, leaving me alone in the forest among the snow and barely living plants. I knew how they felt; part of me was dead, too.

This is a Edward any of us would to have as their own…he makes all the right decisions and life becomes a happy ending for everyone involved. What a GREAT Bella…she is like all of us…insecurities and her inner talk were written perfectly. And a few other cool folks (kick ass Emmett and Charlie) and a “devil cat” along the way (not to give anything away).

check out the rest of IdPattThat’s stories…you won’t be disappointed.

I totally love this story and thought that we had recommended it a long time ago–I don’t know what I was thinking and feel bad that you guise are gonna think I was holding out on you! I love the way that IdPattThat writes. I love the way her characters’ personalities come through in everything.

The thing that I love the most about this story is that it’s so real. Edward doesn’t just let Bella off the hook for what she’s done, but he doesn’t act like a total douche about it, either. His family’s reaction (and hers, too) is authentic. They have real conversations, real issues. I love Masen, and I love how much he loves both of them.

And it’s hot, too.

“Do you want to do this?” he whispered against my lips.

“I want this. You. All of it.” I ran my fingers through his hair.

“I know. I do too. I just… don’t want to ruin it by moving too fast.” Edward’s body betrayed his words when I kissed him again. My hands fisted in his hair as I tried to hold him impossibly closer. One of Edward’s hands ghosted over the skin that was exposed between my shirt and jeans, his hips moving with mine until I was gasping for air.

“Why do I feel like I’m sixteen again?” I murmured against his cheek when he rested his face next to mine.

“Seventeen. You were seventeen.” His breath tickled my ear and I shivered. I ran my hands over his arms and hugged him to me.

Seriously, if you haven’t read this story, even if you don’t like kids (haha), check it out. It’s complete and it’s well-worth the read ♥
