Hey you all! I guess I should start by saying I am a lot intimidated to be writing this review for Stolen Souls by Nayarit, cause this story is good…like you won’t even wanna go to the bathroom kind of good…you know? So I am afraid I won’t do it justice. Nayarit has developed a plot so unique with a lot of twists and turns and characters so complex that you can’t help but be consumed by them… I should also warn you that this story deals with a lot of mature themes like drugs, violence, rape, prostitution, among others, but if you’re like me and can handle that…boy this story will make your head spin…in a totally good way of course.

This story is told from a multitude of various points of view and has so many mysteries that will leave you going crazy trying to find out some answers, when you only have questions. Especially about Bella. She’s such an enigma, I guess because she’s so closed off…but you can’t help liking her even when you know she fucked it up.

It begins at Edward’s bachelor party at the strip club Novolunie where Twilight (aka Bella) and Pixie (aka Alice) work and live. This Edward is a recent medical school graduate working in a hospital in Chicago and is engaged to Tanya, who is his best friend besides Jasper. Edward is very privileged and has a perfect life in everyone else’s eyes, but he has a haunted past, that he cant move from on. All we know is that it involves an accident and that it left him feeling unworthy and incapable of love. That all changes the night he meets Bella/ He is immediately captivated by her and sees himself doing things he never thought he would do.

Bella doesn’t know that he’s infatuated with her since she has so much going on in her life. Tragic events of the past thrust she and her sister Alice into homelessness when they were just fourteen years old. That same year, they were thrown into the underground world of Novolunie and dirty money, sex, and drugs, where they are each other’s only reason for survival.

The same night that Edward met Bella, Alice and Jasper also meet, and since they both believe in soul mates, they instantly fall in love with each other…and Jasper decides to help the sisters.

This story is very heavy but it is also about hope, since you can’t help but pray that Bella and Alice are saved, and also about love, since it’s so beautiful to see the characters falling in love and the things they do for that love. See this part:

I felt the water pooling in my eyes and I couldn’t swallow the lump in my throat. He wanted to know my opinion; but even more than that, he gave me a choice. Nobody—nobody—had ever asked me if I wanted to. Not the first time, when it hurt so much I bled, or the countless times where I gagged so much that I was suffocated and thought I would actually die that way. Never once had I been asked if that was what I wanted, or anything that I wanted—a choice in the matter. I clutched at the hollow in my chest where my breath had been. My voice broke when I answered him.[/dcs_p]

[dcs_p]“No.” And he actually smiled; he smiled. That smile broke the floodgates, and I was a sobbing mess. Then he did something completely unexpected—he pulled me into him for a hug. And I clawed at his green shirt—him—like he was the only concrete beam in a hurricane—the only thing saving me, keeping me alive. As the tears fell freely, I felt so completely serene and uplifted. It was the most amazing thing I had ever felt in my life. The feeling was so foreign to me that it scared me so much, just as much as it uplifted me, and I never wanted to lose this feeling.[/dcs_p]

So beautiful, right? Anyway, I couldn’t leave without talking about Rose and Emmett. Both play key characters in this story and are also so complex characters, especially Rose since we don’t have a clue what she is doing…just that it’s probably something very big that is essential to this amazing plot.

Tanya, Demetri, Aro, and Mike are all minor characters with big roles and their voices are heard as the story progresses. Through their eyes, we learn more about our major characters and they help to weave everyone’s stories together, since in this story EVERYTHING is connected.

I guarantee you won’t regret reading this since I’m sure it is one of the best fics I have ever read. It stands in a category of its own. Also, I should say that the last update will leave you at the edge of your seat. I’m so in need of the next chapter…so Nayarit if you are reading this PLEASE we need the update.
