larin20 says: Bella Swan: The horrid past creeps up on this ingenuine, as she strives just to survive her new life in Forks with a father she really doesn’t know or want to understand. Bella is damaged goods after a tragic event rips her of her first love. She is blacklisted and manipulated into thinking that she’s the reason behind the accident and spirals down a dark tunnel of depression. Renee can’t deal and all but serves her up to Charlie who is emotionally despondent. Granted, he is Charlie Swan (and pretty close to cannon) and he cares but we all know Charlie, overprotective. Bella struggles to put on the “Happy Bella” that she knows will get her by but ultimately it only takes a handful of friends and a certain green eyed misfit that can bring her out of her shell.

Edward Cullen:He’s morose and damaged after scandal labels him a monster. He’s haunted by his past and rebels the best he can to keep anyone from getting close to anyone except for his sister Alice and his close friends Emmett, Rosalie and Jasper. But there is more under the surface and Bella manages to get under his perfectly protected facade. Edward realizes that he can be loved and he can be worthy of a girl like Bella. The problem now is how can a couple like Edward and Bella survive in a town that already had them doomed from the start?

Both Edward and Bella haven’t had the easiest life and together they face obstacles that continue to try to rip them apart. I love how Edward is so endearing and confident of his love when Bella needs more reassurance that she’s able to love again.

“Yes you do! You need me and I fucking need you. I know you can feel it. Those moments when the whole world melted away and it was just us. I wasn’t the only one. You need to stop denying it and just fucking let me in!”

Bella has a great progression through this story and you see her go from insecure, quiet character who would love only to coast through life to a young woman who fights and needs redemption of her past in order to live and love like she knew she was meant to.

I recommend this story because it has the right balance of intrigue, humor, conflict and resolution. There is a good happy ending for all those angst haters out there. Stripped is definitely a good story to read and invest your time in as the characters are so human and so well written that it only pulls you in the more you read it.

Kassiah says: There are a couple of stories out there with the same name and for some reason, I kept overlooking this fic when it was a WIP. I am so sorry that I did, but lemme just say that my wussperv heart would not have been able to take parts of it if I hadn’t.

Stripped begins a week after Bella begins her junior year at Forks High, having moved to live with her father after her mother is at her wits end, unable to deal with her. Bella has been through a tramautic event and isn’t “bouncing back” as quickly as Renee thinks she should, so she sends her to Charlie. Charlie doesn’t have too many rules for her, but the one that he is most adamant about is to stay away from Edward Cullen.

She meets Alice and becomes fast friends with her and the entire gang before Edward enters the picture the following week. We quickly realize that Edward has a past of his own to deal with, explaining his irrational hatred he directs at Bella in the beginning. It doesn’t take long for them to realize their feelings for each other. Their only obstacle: Charlie. Obstacle is really an understatement. Charlie hates Edward. When they are found out, it isn’t pretty–at all.

I started jogging in a zigzag, airplaning her toward the kitchen and it made me laugh to hear her giggle and hold on tighter to me, like I would ever let her fall. She had her face buried in my neck and it felt so good to just be goofy like other teenage couples. I stopped long enough for her to drop the bag off on the counter. We continued our flight around the corner and after I turned down the hall, I froze, the smile slid completely off my face. Bella didn’t notice the change and still had her face buried in my neck, her body still wrapped around my back. I let go of her legs and she slid down. “Awww, rides over?”

“Yeah.” I whispered. “It’s over, love.” I didn’t even try to hide the fucking fear in my voice.

“Why…” Just then she peeked around me and saw Charlie standing at the front door. Esme turned around with a look of complete horror on her face, her cell phone still in her hand.

I really like this story for many reasons. It realistically portrays two young people falling in love and dealing with their pasts together and how far they will go to fight the odds and be together. I love the banter between everyone. Though Charlie is so mean in this fic, I can understand where he is coming from as a parent.

With some of my favorite characterizations (including a Rosalie that I don’t hate and an extremely lovable Emmett), realistic banter, plus fuckhot lemons, Stripped is a great story. Give it a try, I think you’ll really like it.
