Official Description: All Human AU – Shy Bella Swan lives with her religiously zealous mother, Renée. When she has a chance meeting with town hellion Edward, Bella begins to realize that perhaps the sheltered life she’s been leading isn’t so much a comfort as it a cage.

manyafandom says: Oh My Frilly Heck I love this story. I really do. My pal ninapolitan kept going on and on about this story so I gave it a try and devoured it in one sitting. This Bella is a one of my favorites of all times. She’s sheltered and stilted in her life by her devout overbearing mother. She has no understanding of how the real world works or how to interact in it. Her whole world revolves around school, church, her mother and working part-time in the library. Where one day she runs into Edward, no really she RUNS into Edward with a library cart. Hilarity ensues. I know this sounds like a total angstfest, but trust me it isn’t. Bella’s thoughts, her way of thinking, the situations she finds herself in and the way she reacts to them is all done in a very funny way. There’s a bad girl in Bella screaming to get out and the appearance of Edward in her life seems to be helping Bad Bella along. Seriously, go read this right now.

Kassiah says: What words can I use to tell you about the utter genius that is The Caged Bird? I don’t have them; I cannot form them. Like the description says, Bella lives with her freakishly-religious mother and leads a completely sheltered life, including attending Forks Christian Academy. She’s at a point in her life where she is on the brink self-discovery. And I am not just talking about the with the shower-head kind (but, um, that happens too). In the 11 chapters that are out so far, Bella experiences so many firsts: kiss, waves of lust, secular music, standing up to her mother, standing up for herself, plus so much more. The author takes us on Bella’s journey with grace and such realistic descriptions, it is simply amazing. Each chapter begins with a well-chosen poem and Bella’s inner monologue is so spot on for someone going through the things she is experiencing, I feel like I am right there with her. And for many of the scenes, I wish I was, especially in the supply closet and the nonfiction section. This isn’t just about Bella. Edward is a fuckhot cursing doc-wearing bad-boy with calloused fingers and a way with words. There’s even OJ. I mean, what else can I say? Without a doubt, The Caged Bird is one of my favorite stories and Kristen Nicole is the author that I am gonna keep my eye on. If you aren’t already reading this, do not wait anymore. Read it. Right now.

MF’er says: I don’t have much to add as Kass and Hope have pretty much said it all. Seriously if you want some fun, fluffy… bad boy Edward with a hidden sweet side and good girl Bella with a hidden naughty side… This is for you! Just go read it, trust me when I say you will not be disappointed.
