RedVelvetHeaven says: OMG…I am loving this story! I seriously am so picky about my fics and I am always on the hunt for ones that just stand out and apart from the rest. This one totally does! I can’t say enough about how much I love this story. It’s crazy! Really! I am the hugest wuss in FF readership. So it’s a huge testament to Shell29bell’s writing style that I am even here! I can’t stop! I want more! Even with the angst and the emo, I just want more. I love her characterization so far. She is not over amplifying anyone yet, but giving us glimpses into each one little by little. She is changing POV’s as she introduces a new character and has done an amazing job of defining each one individually. She will continue to switch POV as needed, but will mostly alternate between Edward and Bella. So this picks up after a virus has wiped out about 40% of the world’s population. All hell has broken lose and it’s now down to every man for himself. Bella, Carlisle and Esme have banded together to help each other. I am dying to tell you everything that happens from this point on, who they meet, and what their stories are….but I really don’t want to ruin it for you! My words could never do justice to the amazing imagery and intelligence of her writing not to mention the fuckawesome plot line! I will suffice to say this is a must read! I am not sure where this journey is going to take us, but I know that I am totally in for the ride! Give it a shot and be sure to show her some love with a review!
Kassiah says: This fic feels a little to me like I Am Legend (the movie) and I am scared. But my fellow Fictionators said they will hold my hand, so I am going to get through it
I love this story so far, even though I feel the impending angst and hf. shell29bell is pulling us in to this drama with her excellent descriptions, dialogue, and intrigue. I can’t wait to see where she goes with this
mozzer0906 says: I find the premise of The Colony to be very interesting, especially since the world is about to face the first flu pandemic in 4 decades. I’m a science geek by trade and while some liberties are taken with the basic science, I have found that the story really grabs hold of you and won’t let go. One thing that really grabs my attention is how she portrays the complete breakdown of societal laws in the wake of the pandemic. You find amidst the chaos there is a shining beacon of hope – a hope you are clinging to while you are salivating for the updates to see where this goes next. I think the characterizations are very strong and each character has a bold point of view. This is very well written and enjoyable to read.
