Official Description: After a difficult breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Bella meets a sexy, but enigmatic, yoga instructor whose dedication to the art masks a hidden sorrow. Further complicating matters is his loyalty to the yogic practice of brahmacharya, celibacy! AH

Edward and Emmett own the Cullen Center for Yoga Arts, a spa retreat in the Berkshires, and Jasper is one of their instructors. Rose and Alice drag Bella to a long weekend there, to help her get out of a post-breakup funk. Attraction abounds on the usual lines, but there isn’t supposed to be any fraternization between staff and clients. Oops!
Complicating things further is Edward’s self-imposed celibacy, a vow he has taken that involves something terrible that happened while he was serving in Iraq with his best friend, Jake. Add some post-traumatic stress disorder, rule-breaking by practically everyone else, and an unexpectedly nude Bella, and Edward has more to cope with than he ever imagined.
Edward withholds a great deal from a lot of people, including those he should be able to share with, but he has very good reason. Overt staring, jealousy of other clients, and a fist fight draw Bella to him, even as he tries desperately to push her away. Bella has a great deal of compassion, but she also is good at spotting a line of BS when she hears it.
I look forward to more of Edward’s past being revealed and how Bella will help him reconcile the guilt he feels with what actually happened. The lemons are lovely and maybe, one day, these kids will get to use a bed!
The Cullen Sutras was not at all what I expected, but I can’t help but be intrigued.
Edward and Bella doing yoga puts a whole new meaning to the phrase:
“Breathe…Bella…breathe.”
Magnolia822 has done her research, and it defintely comes across in this story. Everything that Edward is going through, everything that haunts him, feels so real. Bella’s reactions, as well as everyone else involved, are painfully realistic and leave the reader wishing that they could fast forward to a HEA.
Our lips met in the darkness. I couldn’t see his face, only feel his kiss. His mouth was soft on mine as we moved together gently, exploring each other without speaking. His hand moved from my hip to cup my face and turn it more fully towards him, deepening our access to each other. He continued to caress my face, running his fingers through my hair as our tongues finally touched, and I sighed again into his mouth with the relief of this new contact. If it was possible, I felt him grow harder still behind me as I pressed back into him again and again, becoming increasingly desperate for friction to quell the ache between my thighs.
This story isn’t for the lighthearted. If your looking for something fluffy, this probably isn’t for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something that will grab you by the gut and have you wishing you didn’t have to sleep so you could keep reading, this story will deliver.
Read it. Love it. Join me while we wait for what happens next.
