I fell in lust with her the minute I saw her tight little ass slide down that pole.
Sometimes, I look for a one/shot to share with you because it’s extra insightful and gives me cause to think of things I don’t normally think about. Sometimes, I just want to read something that’s pure unadulterated smut. This fic is the best of both worlds: thought-provoking because they’re firefighters and fucking hot because, dude, they’re firefighters.
Right from the very first line, I was enraptured with this story.
Bella is a new “probie” at the firehouse Edward is stationed at. They get to know each other and six months in, he knows he’s in love with her. They share a tender albeit platonic moment, and he knows he has to wait for her probationary period to end to tell her how he feels.
If and when she was assigned to a new station, I’d tell her. As long as she was in this house and under my watch, I was going to keep my mouth shut.It was the longest six months of my life.
Her time at his station ends and she is transferred somewhere else. Two days later, she drops by to pick up a few things, wearing a dress, and … ahem:
“Are you asking me if I want you, all sweaty and dirty, to take me up against the wall of a glorified supply closet in the firehouse where we met?”
Um. Yes, please.
I love that afragilelittlehuman has given us such a history along with a believable happy future for them. In less than 5,000 words, I feel like I know her characters and the emotions that Edward is feeling at the prospect of losing her–not only because he wants her, but because she’s his fellow firefighter. Oh, and did I mention this story is superhot? Yeah. Go read this right now.
