The Sweetest Thing is different from most stories out there. We find out from the very beginning that Bella is getting married… to Mike Newton. No, don’t freak out! Mike actually seems like a good guy, but probably not the one for Bella, who is incredibly anxious about marrying him. In fact, she is so freaked out about the wedding that Bella decides to return some bridal magazines Mike had purchased for her.
Guess who works at the bookstore? Uh huh, it’s Edward.
Now, I don’t want to give any more of the plot away, but let me just say that if my local bookstore was owned by Magpye’s Edward I would never leave. Like, ever. My entire salary would be spent on books and I’d forget FF ever existed. That’s how amazingly sexy and interesting Edward is.

I promised not to give anything away, because this is so good that you want to go read it for yourselves, but let me just mention that they become friends and the chemistry is off the charts. Bella’s internal monologue is witty and never annoying (Bellas tend to annoy me – a lot), and Edward is well… just go read!
What I love about The Sweetest Thing is that these are all good people. No one is despicable, there is no “bad guy.” It’s just Bella, trying to figure things out, and Edward, realizing he really, really likes this girl who is unavailable. It’s not some torrid affair and it’s definitely not majorly angsty given the subject matter. It’s smart, well-written, hilarious, and just incredibly sweet.
Kassiah says: I told littlesecret84 that she said everything I wanted to say and more in her awesome g/r. I don’t know how long I have had this story on my list, but I could kick myself for not reading it sooner.I think you’ll love this fic.
One thing that I really love about this story is how likable I find Bella. I seem to always love and fawn and swoon over Edward, but I find myself feeling almost proud of Bella in this fic. I also really enjoy Alice. That doesn’t mean that I don’t love Edward because trust, I do. He is absolutely swoonworthy and adorable. Did I mention noble? sigh.
This story is fantastic, with great character development and a truly believable plot. The characters have issues without being overly angsty. There are some moments of incredible fuckhotness that leave me panting for more. I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen next and that’s simply The Sweetest Thing.
