This little gem earned the author, denverpopcorn, the award of Best New Author in the Age of Edward contest. Once you read it, you’ll understand why. It’s a very unique story, set in a 1970’s porn house in New York City. It’s obvious right from the beginning that the author knows New York and what it must have been like at that time. While reading, it was easy to envision how the city as well as the characters must have looked.

When we first meet Edward, he is working as a projectionist in a seedy porn theater as a side job, while pursuing his real passion- film direction. His internal dialogue is great as he watches his customers come and go, wondering what their stories are. When Bella stumbles in one night, he takes notice. Girls don’t usually come to the Skinerama alone.

Bella, whom Edward lovingly names Bunny, has just arrived in New York City and gets introduced to the harsh realities of life in the Big Apple very quickly. Thankfully she meets Edward, who shows her the better part of what New York has to offer.

The dialogue in this story is clever and sweet, and the even the side characters add dimension and flare. I haven’t read a fic with such diverse and amusing characters as this one in a while. The progression of Edward and Bella’s relationship is light and fun, but believable.
If you’re looking for a fun read, with endearing characters and great dialogue, give this one a glance.
