jjuliebee says: Who isn’t a sucker for dark, mysterious, hot-as-fuck Edwards? The key for me is that they be well-written, original, and non-cliche. Well, elusivetwilight has certainly met all of the above requirements and then some with Incubus Anomaly.

I was pretty much sucked in (no pun intended) from the first scene. Her Edward is darkly seductive. Case in point – here’s a little taste from the very first chapter:

With each grinding motion into her I growled as I gripped her hips, “You. Fucking. Love. It. Say it.”

Erm, yeah. You get the picture.

Edward is a vampire – a sex demon – that simultaneously fucks and feeds off the living. He taps into each meal’s unconscious, eliciting from within their sleeping minds their deepest fantasies, fucking his victims and then sating his blood lust with a quick slice of his knife blade. He takes what he needs and then leaves them alive and unaware of his existence.

Until he meets Bella, who is interesting, brooding, and has a mysterious past … much like the vamp himself. She’s a chain-smoking, motorcycle riding production manager at a local theater. She’s been hurt – badly – at this point, we only know she’s been run through an emotional meat-grinder by her ex-husband Jacob Black. He’s out of her life, but not off of her mind. There’s a lot of pain and despair inside of her – so much so that she doesn’t seem to have much will to live.

Edward sees her, smells her, can’t resist her. He learns from an old friend that she is his singer, but like canon Edward, he can’t read her thoughts – and in this story, it means that he can’t quite figure out how to seduce/consume her via his standard modus operandi.

Elusivetwilight has crafted some spectacular lemony scenes and woven them into an intriguing, mysterious plot. Who is Marcus, Bella’s grubby old stagehand? What exactly happened between Bella and Jacob? Why, exactly, is Edward estranged from his family? How will he be able to reconcile his hunger with the unfamiliar feelings he has for Bella?

We’re only seven chapters in, and things are really getting interesting. I can honestly say that I don’t have the faintest clue what’s going to happen next, and that makes for great reading.

If you are looking for something a little different, dark, and intriguing, give this fic a look. I am generally not a reader of vamp stories – I’m more of an AH girl – but Incubus Anomaly has me hooked in the very best way.

Kassiah says: Incubus Anomoly intrigues me. I love this Bella, and that usually doesn’t happen for me. I adore this Edward, in spite of him being so dark. This fic pulled me in from the very beginning.

Like Juliebee said, Edward is an incubus and Bella’s blood and body call to him:

She called for me again, a husky sigh and I wanted to answer her calls and her body. I wanted to answer it with my own feral scream, a cry of bloodlust. The mere thought of her making my mouth wet with venom.

This denial was incredibly degrading. What I wanted, what I needed, I took and it was usually given to me willingly. I didn’t have to work this hard for anything. Ever.

But she sang for me, every sweet fucking inch of her. With her, it was so different. I was frustrated but elated at the same time, it was like discovering a new species. I wanted to learn her behaviors, her instincts and in doing so, possess every part of her: making her mine.

This fic is fuckhot and so, so good. The mystery only pulls you in more. I really love this story and can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. Give it a try!
