Official Description: Edward and Bella meet and start a friendship one summer. They’re in Forks after college and med school and both are soon moving to Seattle. Edward is in an accident, will his near death experience be enough to finally ask Bella out? All Human. Lemons!

ColdPlayWhore says: It’s been almost a year since I met Flightlessbird11 for the first time when she reviewed one of my earlier stories religiously. I’m not ashamed to say that she was probably my first, and subsequently, only stalker in the fandom. Without her persistence, our friendship and story collaboration would never have come to fruition. Little did I know that we shared very similar musical taste, a love for The Big Bang Theory and most notably The Beatles.

Before our collaboration began though, Flightlessbird11 had begun writing her own story, a lovely little romantic drama called ‘Someone to Watch Over Me.’ I’ve had the pleasure of coming along with her on the ride, that is her first full completed story, and the growth that she has gone through both in her writing and personally has been epic. To put it mildly, this is one of those underappreciated and well written stories you always hear me bitching and moaning about.

Someone to Watch Over Me begins early one summer when Bella, working her part time job at the local pizza joint, meets Edward who is spending the summer in Forks before moving to Seattle to become a resident. There’s immediately a spark between them and when Bella risks her life to save Edward from a major accident, the spark blooms into much more.

After driving for about a half an hour, we pulled up to what appeared to be a large barn house. Edward beeped the horn and pulled in front of it.

“Where are we?” I asked. I was officially confused.

He got out of his seat without a word, and went around the back of the car to get something from the trunk. “Edward? What…?” I seriously had no idea what he was planning, and I was pretty sure he knew it too, because he had a smug look on his face the entire time. He came back to the driver’s seat holding a small cooler. He handed it to me, and I took it and placed it in my lap.

Just as I did that, a light came on from behind us. I looked back to where it was coming from, and then back towards the barn. Before I knew it, the opening credits to Sabrina, starring Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart were being projected onto the giant building in front of us.

It’s obvious through reading the story that Flightlessbird11 is a true romantic at heart. Each picture she paints is vivid and shows the genuine love that is growing between her characters. Even though her Bella has been burned in the past by love, she is not afraid to try again and Edward is determined to win her over, just like Flightlessbird11 is determined to win over her readers. With an opening straight out of her favorite movie, The Little Mermaid, what’s not to love?

Kassiah says: I really love Maybe I’m Falling For You, so I felt kinda bad that I hadn’t checked this story before now. I’m so glad that I decided to read it. It’s funny and has drama, but without too much angst. The characterizations are solid and the relationships Edward and Bella have with each other and with their friends are genuine.

I love how affectionate they are, even from their first “date”:

As soon as the movie ended, I turned to face him. “Edward?”

“Yes, Bella?” he said as he turned to face me, before starting the car.

“All night I’ve had the most terrible impulse to do something,” I said, hoping he would catch on to my reference to the scene in Sabrina when Audrey Hepburn tells Humphrey Bogart that she has a terrible urge to do something, and she ends up fixing the homburg on his hat. I was pretty sure Edward did catch on, because he smirked at me and spoke.

“Oh, never resist an impulse, Bella. Especially if it’s terrible.” Yep. He definitely caught on.

“Alright, I’ll do it!” I said. Then I leaned over and grabbed a fistful of his hair before I pulled my face to his and kissed him forcefully. He kissed me back without any hesitation, and our tongues began to dance. He grabbed the back of my neck and pulled my body closer to his. I put the arm that wasn’t tangled in his hair, around his neck, getting me even closer to his gorgeous form.

This story is complete and though it seems like a long fic, it’s an incredibly sweet, easy read. It also has one of the best proposal scenes I’ve ever read. I really love this story, check it out!

Official Description: Edward and Bella meet one cloudy May morning at their neighborhood coffee bar. Little do they know that they have actually been conversing for several months under assumed names. Collaboration between CPW and FLB11. M for language and lemony goodness.

Kassiah says: You’ve all seen the movies or read the stories where the guy sees the girl one day and she positively takes his breath away. They proceed to run into each other every day for weeks before he gets up the courage to speak to her, and when he does, they realize that they are totally made for each other and will live happily ever after. Throw in some humor and a little shake of “You’ve Got Mail” and that’s the basic premise of Maybe I’m Falling For You. Quite frankly, I love it!

Photographer/greeting card writer Edward sees artist/dogwalker Bella at a coffee shop one day dressed like “the female version of the Gorton’s fisherman” and is instantly smitten. They run into each other practically every morning at the coffee shop and a few other places before having an actual conversation. Unbeknownst to them, they have been chatting online with each other for months as Paperback_Writer and PennyLane84. Meeting each other in real life around the same time their virtual counterparts seem ready to take their relationship to the next level (in the form of cybersex lol) causes a slight crisis of conscience for both of them.

What will happen?

I love this story because it’s funny, romantic, and hf-free (so far). I am sure there will be some conflict in the future, but I put that to the back of my mind while reading passages like this:

PennyLane84: I’m sorry you came home alone.

Paperback_Writer: I’m sorry you weren’t at the bar.

PennyLane84: Sweet words from the drunken man.

Paperback_Writer: True words from the stone sober woman.

PennyLane84: You should go to bed Paperbag Drunkie

Paperback_Writer: Coming with me?

PennyLane84: Maybe another time.

Paperback_Writer: If that’s the case, I hope to god you own a webcam.

Seven chapters in, I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen with “both” couples. If you are looking for a story with witty banter and a fun plot, then MIFFY is the story for you. I personally can’t wait for them to have sex against the macchiato machine
