Official Description: Bella was my forever in this life. Even in death I felt sure that we would conjoin and become one infinitely…even through infidelity?” Jacob, Bella and Edward at their most sexy, angsty, and broken. AH/AU. M for MEGA and lemons.

RedVelvetHeaven says: Last week the Fictionators recommended “Dead Confederates” by goldenmeadow. After reading that and falling in love with her writing…not to mention the amazing Rebelward, I had to check out her other work. She has a few totally fun one-shots and this amazing gem called Comeuppance, which I am proudly rec’ing today. I am in love with this story, plain and simple! The subtle beauty of this life-changing journey is a must read. Before you look at the summary and say…WHAT? Jacob? No way! Stop, take a breath, and open your mind. All is not as it may appear from reading the summary alone. This is a journey. Bella and Edward’s journey from perceived perfection to ‘completeness’ through imperfection.

BellaStjerne, a loyal reader of goldenmeadow’s said it best:
“The Bella and Edward depicted here are full of glorious human frailties. Bella’s thoughtless actions and Edward’s equally heedless reactions, force them to come to grips with the perils of placing the undue burden of perfection on each other and the fallacy traps that feelings of unworthiness have created in their relationship.”

This is not a fairytale or a fun high school fic, and the first few chapters may be hard for some to read. This is a gut-wrenching, truthful look at two people; how they started; what they have created; and what it will take for them to move forward, together, forever. All I can say is that once I started this story, I could not stop. I had to know how it would all work out. Goldenmeadow’s incredible gift of descriptive imagery just grips you and keeps you captivated, wanting more. Somehow, this beautiful story remains practically undiscovered; and I hope goldenmeadow soon gets the recognition she deserves.
