bellasunderstudy says: Before I go into gushing over this fic, I have to just say how over the moon I am that I was asked to do a guest review.


Fatallyobsessed/whynot has truly become one of my favorite authors – hands down. And I have to say she is completely proving why that is with ‘I only want you for your body’. The story gives us a look at a thirty something Bella and her best friend Angela who are on vacation in beautiful California. Never did they expect to come in contact with hot surfers, a fortune teller, a male model, and an artist, not to mention having the artist and the hot surfer rolled into one amazing hunk of man. I’m sure none of you can imagine who this amazingly beautiful, artistic surfer could be, can you? The best of many, many fantasies is sculpted into my favorite piece of man meat. Can we really get better than a Surfward who’s also an artist? Personally I don’t think so.


The story is only seven chapters in, but, as I have come to expect from any fic by fatallyobsessed/whynot, I’m hooked. The introduction of the characters is gradual and, in my honest opinion, unparalleled in building the story. Not rushing the storyline is one of the things I love about fatallyobsessed/whynot’s writing. She lets the story build and gives us what we need with each chapter to make the story believable and keep us hungry for more. Her writing and characterizations are bar-none some of the best.


This Edward is panty dropping hot, but at the same time there is a deepness and sensitivity, a sensuality that is much more than his God worthy good looks. He truly has the soul of an artist. Edward’s almost obsession with Bella’s beauty, not in a sexual way though that is most definitely there, but more the way he sees the beauty of her body, his artists appreciation of the female body, has my heart melting and lady parts tingling.


Bella is a strong and independent woman. She’s not one to take things lying down. It’s great to see a characterization of an older Bella who’s more confident in herself and who she is, one who is not afraid when she sees what she wants and at least takes the leap to go after it. This Bella is trying to make some big changes in her life and, although we haven’t got a full back story on the reasons she’s in California, I have no doubt that it’s going to be a great ride finding out the full details, especially now that we’ve had a major decision in just whom she’s going to pursue. Or should I say who she’s going to allow to pursue her?


Truly, this story has been on my fav’s from the moment the first chapter posted. It is hands down a must read.

I Only Want You for Your Body has a mature Edward and an independent Bella. The descriptions are remarkable. I love the attention to detail and the way that Edward describes Bella.

I eyed the sweep of skin, entirely exposed aside from a narrow strip that was covered by the top’s band. Hell, yes, I wanted to touch that. Squirting the lotion into my hand, I smoothed it gently over her shoulders, stroking downward to coat her shoulder blades, feathering the lotion onto her sides. Bella flexed and arched slightly forward as she chuckled breathlessly. “Sorry. Cold,” she murmured, drawing a quick breath as the tips of my fingers barely brushed the soft skin of the outer curve of her breast, barely exposed by the fabric of her top.

I like how you know they are going to be together, but it isn’t cliche or forced. I like the characterizations, with vapid Rosalie and sexy Esme.  Jacob is pretty funny too. Did I mention that it’s hot?

She looked at me steadily, and this time her hand did rise to stroke my cheek gently, rasping on the scruff on my jaw. “I don’t have time for that this time, Edward, because I want you so much it’s crazy,” she said quickly, closing the gap between us and kissing me hard before sliding out her door and walking toward the porch.

I scrambled out my door. “Bella, wait!” I said, a little louder than I intended to, and I heard Angela laugh from the porch.

I Only Want You for Your Body is an awesome story, with good dialogue and great descriptions. Read it, I think you’ll love it.
