Official Description: Changes are ahead for Bella Swan, as she leaves her home in Forks for the sunshine of California. Unable to let go, her journey of self-discovery begins, and she must choose between what she left behind and what lies ahead. AH, OOC, MATURE THEMES

JFly says: When I was a kid, we moved a lot. Like every year. I was no army brat– just part of some misplaced nomadic unit wandering the earth. It taught me many things, though, and Pixievamp hits one squarely on the head with Loneliness Be Over: Friendships are priceless, but appearances are everything.
Right off the bat, Pixievamp has broken the mold with a romance between Bella and Embry, and it’s beautifully done. Don’t like wolves? Can’t stand reading about the pack? Diehard E/B reader? Shut up, and read this. Pixievamp CREATED this Embry character from nothing, and you WILL love him. Not only that, but as a diehard E+B 4evr club president right here, I’m sitting here hoping we get to see a lot more Embry before the story is done.
But for now, this isn’t their story. This is the story of their farewell and what comes next. Charlie accepts a job in California, and he and Bella are both forced to leave behind their friends and memories of Forks. The goodbyes are bittersweet, but this Bella is not the canon crybaby. She’s mature enough to suck it up and make an effort to deal with a tough situation for her father’s sake.
During the journey, Pixievamp vividly inserts us into the ache of being seventeen and stepping out of the comfort zone. We share Bella’s palpable moods and fears and memories and regrets, and we connect with her in deep sympathy. We see her make the conscious effort to persevere, and we admire her. We miss her friends. We sniffle with her. We reach for our phones when she gets a text. We fear the unknown and the future.
The thing is, there’s no villain. There’s no bad guy blocking her path to love and truth and justice and the American way. This is just Life, and sometimes life throws a curve ball and makes your dad take a job in California, and you have to start your senior year of high school in a new place, and it sucks. Pixievamp is creating such emotion– a tale of lovers torn asunder– and it all seems pretty much like an angsty angst ride through Angstown in Angstland, but something shifts when Bella meets the new neighbor (or more specifically his friend Edward) in Orange County.
She feels lighter. And though she still misses Forks and Embry and Jake and Quil, she also laughs with Edward and Jasper. Though she misses the night sky crowded with an army of stars back in the Pacific Northwest, she appreciates the view from her new veranda. Though she longs to feel Embry’s lumpy mattress once again, she doesn’t shrink away from Edward’s feather-light fingertips on her back.
But as much as Edward seems like a cool tonic on a hot day, he’s got a bit of a creepy Eddie Haskell vibe going on, donthca think? I’m keeping an eye on this guy. I think there may be something sinister there. Something ugly beneath that pretty surface. For Bella’s sake, I do hope I am wrong, but let’s face it: this is the OC, and image is everything. Edward is beautiful, but appearances are deceiving.
Loneliness Be Over is a realistic take on a realistic fact of life, and the angst lies in the fact that there is no one to blame—yet.
MF’er says: My cupcake had this as her ass kicker for how many weeks? So I gave it a chance and trust me you might be like “What?? Bella and WHO?” – but you need to give it a chance! Bella’s life changes mighty quick with a move to sunny Huntington Beach, California… and she meets a new set of friends. Jasper, the neighbor across the street… and his smexy Range Rover drivin’ best friend, Edward as well as his sister, Alice. I’m already all swoony and *happy sigh* over these characters and I’m anxious to see where they’re headed in the future with the possible love triangle and drama and did I mention that E is a whiskey drinking Range Rover driving sweetheart?
mozzer0906 says: The thing that first drew me into this fic was the writing style of pixievamp; she is descriptive to the point where you can envision the scene unfolding around you. The cadence and the flow of the words made it enjoyable to read.
I found her Bella to instantly make her way into my heart because she is so well characterized. As a reader you feel the pain of losing someone you loved compounded with the pain of up and moving from the only home you have ever known.
Much like Caren, when I saw Bella was paired with Embry I was like “what fuckery is this?” but I quickly understood two things, first this relationship was ending because of her move and second the way pixievamp characterized Embry you couldn’t help but be sad they were parting.
I also really love Jacob in this fic. In the absence of the long term longing for Bella, she turned him into the amiable friend we all knew he could be in the series. He is Bella’s rock, her most trusted confidante. We believe in their friendship and hurt when she says goodbye to him, very unlike the Twilight series when Team Edward cheered when Bella punched Jacob in the face.
Jasper, Alice and Edward have only just been introduced and I am looking forward to see where the author takes them because so far all of the characters are magnificently done.
RedVelvetHeaven says: So you may have noticed that LBO was my kickass pwn of the week choice for a few weeks in a row. That’s because this story seriously does pwn me! Jfly’s awesome and thorough review above really says it all…except whoa…Jfly, you really think Edward is sinister?? I mean he does have an erie sense of calm about him, I’ll give you that…but he’s so sweet and kind and easy to be around for Bella. And the hair…gah!! The hair! LOL But then there’s Embry…ugh! Just like Jfly says, pixievamp08 broke the mold with this one. I know it sounds strange but this intensely emotion filled, image rich story will suck you in and own you! I can’t wait to see where this is going and how Bella will find that balance between her old life and her new one. Give it a chance, it’s truly is worth it. And when you find yourself saying “Embry, Embry, Embry”…then, “oh but wait….Edward, Edward, Edward” like the rest of us…just know you’re not alone in wondering what kind of magic this pixievamp08 has woven in with her words.
