My Best Friend the Klepto by Halawia

Official Description: Of all the things Edward Cullen had ever stolen in his life, the most important thing he possessed was my heart. And I knew there was no way I’d ever get it back. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to.

I love this fanfiction story so much. I never know what to expect when I open up the next update. The mystery behind the story is a huge part of what keep me coming back. We as readers don’t know what exactly happens between these two best friends that causes them to face a long time of separation from one another. What ever transpired between them has left their friendship, relations with their families and anyone close to them very strained.

I love the way Halawia captures the readers and refuses to let us go. We are under her spell. We feel a strong connection to the characters. The best part of this story by far is the strength of feelings Bella and Edward have for each other. They may have had to far time away from one another but even that distance can’t change what exists in their hearts, its unchangeable.

From the very start the reader is treated to snippets from the past. Circumstances that threw them together, thus encouraging them to build a friendship and become kindred spirits to one another. Over the years, they have developed a closeness that no one can drive apart, not even the Mighty Charlie Swan. LOL.

I myself look forward to reading each and every chapter that gets posted to the awesome story. I can’t wait for the mystery to finally be spelled out for us. I don’t know if I will be happy about what I read, but I will love that it is part of this wonderful tale. I am the biggest Edward and Bella fan and pray that it will have a happy ending for them. I am anxious to see how it all turns out. Halawia is an incredible writer and I am in awe every time I sink my teeth into one of her fabulous stories. “My Best Friend the Klepto” is a must read, I highly recommend it to anyone who is an Edward and Bella fan, you will not be disappointed about the mysterious past, but rather on the edge of your seat anxious to know the full story!!!!

Halawia had my attention from the first chapter. If I could remember how I found this story, or who recc’d it to me, I would kiss their face, but since I can’t, I’m paying it forward by telling you to read it.

My Best Friend the Klepto is wonderful, it’s got this background story that the reader is being slowly made privy to, and this current story that has you begging for Edward and Bella to forget everything else and just love each other.

The way the emotions are conveyed throughout the story, make it irresistible.

I held my breath, waiting for what he’d do next. It never went anywhere past him running his fingers along my bottom lip. I closed my eyes and let out the first shaky breath. He kept doing that, moving his finger back and forth. Then, slowly becoming more comfortable, he began tracing the lines of my face. He touched my cheek, my eyebrows, my eyelids, my forehead, my lips again, and even the tips of my ear. Inside, I felt like I was burning. I swallowed heavily and finally leaned into him. When he didn’t stiffen at my advances, I moved down and gently placed my head against his shoulder. The skin there was warm, and felt exactly the way I remembered it. Soft.

I could feel every rapid breath he took, and breathed the same until our intake of air matched. “You always did that,” he whispered. “Molded yourself to me.” I sighed and settled into the crook of his neck, my nose skimming along the edge of his collarbone. Without hesitation, his arm came to rest across my side, while he began running his fingers through my hair with the other. After a short while of sitting like that, I felt enough at ease to bring my own arm out from between us and drape it across his waist. I let my fingers crush across his hip. He breathed deeply and let his chin come to rest on the top of my head. I hadn’t even realized how tired I was until it was already too late, and I was falling asleep right there.

*sigh* This one brings the angst, and will have your head spinning with confusion at times, but it’s going to be worth all that once these two finally get it together.

Even though I am fail and have had a crazy busy week that left me with only enough time to read the first chapter of this fic, I just wanted to pop in with my 2 cents anyway. The first chapter of My Best Friend the Klepto made me giggle and want to nom nom nom this story right up. It starts with a humorous (but to them, very upsetting) encounter between Edward and Bella as young children, and that was enough hook for me to be convinced. I need to know where this story goes, and based on the other recs above, I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get into the rest of it this weekend!
