Bratty-Vamp says: When JeesieChreesie told me that she thought Twilight fanfiction could use more stories in the horror genre, I was curious to see what she could come up with. I read Atlas Shrugged, and already knew she was a helluva writer. But what would she do with a horror story?Well, with The Masque of the Red Death… it’s easy to see that she was up for the challenge! Masque is written from Edward’s POV, and it is sickly delicious to see this tale unfold through the eyes of a sadistic killer. In this story, Edward doesn’t whine and brood about his disgusting nature. He celebrates it. He treats killing like an artistic gift… and it’s gross and it’s wonderful… and it makes me feel like I should feel bad for loving it so much. But I can’t. Like a boy trying madly to impress the girl he likes with shiny trinkets, Edward leaves Bella bloody tokens of his affection. But what does she make of his gifts? Will she give him a gift in return? Her heart? Her blood? Her sanity? I can’t wait to find out.
Definitely not a read for the faint of heart. And take my word for it… don’t read the chapters right before bed. But if you aren’t afraid of a character that makes the typical “Darkward” look like a big wuss… jump on this story. It’s creepy, and it’s scary… and it’s so wonderfully written that you will be grossed out in the very best of ways.
MF’er says: Holy. Shit. I am so unbelievably intrigued by Horrorward. JeesieChreesie has certainly come up with something like I’ve never, ever imagined when it comes to these characters. This is my first time reading anything of hers and I’m totally impressed by the mysterious way she’s weaving the story, what we’re learning little by little and what we’re seeing all through Edward’s point of view. Jeesie’s writing is fantastic and a bit morbid, but like Bratty said… it really is in the very best way possible. If you can’t handle gore or horror, this story isn’t for you, but if you love mystery, intrigue and a story that will certainly keep you guessing – check this one out.
mozzer0906 says: This was another one of the addiction feeding Darkward’s I’ve found in my quest and this one is so dark he is midnight. He is a true madman who leaves gifts for his singer in order to either impress her or drive her positively mad. He has no remorse and is quite creative in his kills. This is not SMeyer’s Twilight that is for sure. I find it dark and delicious, wondering who is going to piss off Edward this chapter and how Bella will react to each death (much like Twilight, she doesn’t react how anyone expects her to). You feel a little guilty for loving him so and then you realize that we all love ourselves a bad boy from time to time. This stays true to the horror genre therefore is graphic and gory – Edward takes quite pride in the trinkets he leaves for Bella.
RedVelvetHeaven says: This is my first Jeesiechreesie reading experience and I have to say that I’m more than impressed! Bratty Vamp knows my love for a good read and I think everyone is beginning to know my love for a good look at a sick mind. LOL So when she suggested I read Masque of Red Death I was all over it. And I was hooked from the first chapter. Being written from Edward’s POV we are given the opportunity to experience this all from the killers POV; following his dark thoughts; his sinister tactics and his very clear desire for what prods him into action. As the story unfolds and he begins to interact with Bella, my curiosity is seriously peaked, as I begin to realize I really don’t know where this is going to go – but damn if I’m not excited to find out!
This is by far the darkest, most detailed story I have ever read in FF and I am loving every minute of it. It is definitely not for the faint of heart or the weak stomach. However, if you love an impeccably written story that takes you places you never go…this is for you! To say I’m impressed is an understatement! I feel like I’m reading a published novel.
