RedVelvetHeaven says: So it’s my turn with the One Shot Wednesday and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I love me a good one-shot, I truly do! I never pass up the opportunity for a quick and complete read. So if you know me at all, you know my love is strong for LaViePastiche as well as for a good Jasper/Bella story. So combining all those loves together I present to you….’Pine Lake’. Written as a sample for the ‘For the Love of Jasper‘ contest, LaViePastiche set the bar high with this one….

Set in Pine Lake, Georgia in 1976 and told from Bella’s POV, LaVie takes us back in time and what a fun journey it is. Bella is a college student that has recently moved with her family to Georgia for her father’s new job. Being new in town, she is not privy to the town gossip about one very intriguing landscaper that is helping out the Swan family. Bella is instantly attracted to this mysterious and beautiful man, but her new friend Rosalie has a story to tell her that should scare her away from him for good….or will it? Complete with yellow polyester pantsuits and am radios belting out songs like ‘Magic Man’ and ‘Dream Weaver’, LaVie beautifully transports you back in time and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

“My stomach lurched again when I heard twigs cracking behind me. Without thinking I ran straight into the river. I made it in about a foot when I slipped on a rock and fell hard onto my back, against a cluster of rocks and branches. I immediately lost my breath. I brought my hands to my throat and tried to take in a breath but nothing came and the only sound I could make was strained gasp. I rolled onto my stomach and tried to get up, but I just flopped in the shallow water like a dying fish.

Suddenly, I felt two hands grasp both my upper-arms. I closed my eyes and everything just turned off. That was it, it was over, he found me and I was going to die in the woods.”

dunnn dunnn dunnn dunnn….. LOL

MF’er says: I’m also a huge fangirl for LaVie and her uber-sexy-sparkle-pants hehehe. I jumped into this the day it was posted and ungh, oh dear… Landscapersper is just rawr. He’s all mysterious and sexy and you kind of get this vibe like the story is going to be all eerie. I think I even PM’d her like “Umm, is this gonna be like… Crystal Lake, you know, like the movie… with that one guy?”

But I should have known, she has nothing but love for Jasper and she did him so so so right in this one shot. I highly recommend giving it a read and then going over to the FTLOJ C2 and reading more of the wonderful entries!!

Kassiah says: Everyone knows that I don’t seek out stories that require me to be a big fan of Team J. But since I love LaViePastiche sfm, I had to check this out. Lucky for me that I did, because it reminded me the reason why I started to love her way back when she grabbed me with “Game on, brown eyes.” She is such a descriptive writer and conveys such emotion through her words.

Pine Lake is one of those stories that everyone should read, regardless of whether or not you love Jasper/Bella together. It’s everything we want: so well-written, with a wonderful plot and believable characters, sexy smirks and sweet, sweet lovin’. Trust me when I say you want to read this :)

mozzer0906 says: I couldn’t agree with the girls more. :)

Son of a Preacher Man by by LaVie Pastiche

Official Description:

Jasper Hale, 21, is the son of a popular televangelist in Phoenix, and he couldn’t be any further from a church-going goody two shoes. His attitude toward work, attending class, or contributing positively to society is lackadaisical at best. He drinks, smokes, and has a penchant for deflowering teenage girls. Bella attends private school with Edward Cullen, a senior who she’s been in love with since ninth grade, when he moved to Phoenix. Too bad Edward is dating the most beautiful girl at St. Mary’s, and doesn’t even know Bella exists. But when Jasper sets his sights on Bella, Edward can’t help but take notice. Will he protect her from girlfriend Rosalie’s impious older brother? AH/AU/OOC and all that good stuff.
