It is Seth/Edward, no sexy times and chocked full of heartfail. So why am I recommending it you ask? Because it is beautifully written, she slides this one-shot perfectly into canon and makes you believe that this actually could have happened.

In this one-shot you get Seth’s point of view of Edward’s wedding – with a twist – Seth is in love with Edward. LingeringLuminosity really nailed what I would consider canon Seth very well: funny, charming, doing his best not to rock the boat and all around a good guy. In the standing tradition of kicking the Clearwaters in the balls, Seth is left alone in the end, watching his love run off with her. *Wipes tears from eyes*

This one shot is very short and well written. I think LingeringLuminosity did a great job in conveying the gambit of emotions Seth was going through. I highly recommend it when you are looking to get your t-rated-emo-slash-on.

Kassiah says: So you all know that for the most part, I only like E/B HEA no-hf stories, and technically, this *is* an E/B story. When Shan put this story up for recommendation, I thought there is no way in hell that I can read Edward and …Seth?  Turns out I was wrong.


LingeringLuminosity portrays the emotions of unfulfilled love so perfectly, I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the truth in that.  Seth looks on as Edward, the person he is in love with and can’t be with for basically every logical reason known to man (and werewolf and vampire), marries Bella.  He is stunned and forlorn and while reading this, you can feel what he’s going through.


Rated T is about as much as I could do with this, though.  I tell everyone who will listen to me that I just can’t take the thought of Edward even kissing someone else.  But while reading this O/S, I found myself willing Edward to kiss Seth, to at least give him that.  It’s that moving.


I love that not only does LingeringLuminosity bring us the angst and emo, there’s also humor. 

I’ll get over you- don’t feel guilty, I swear a bus-boy smiled at me when mom took us out to dinner yesterday, After your wedding is over I’m gonna go home, watch Blade Runner in my underwear and try not to think about what you’re doing on your honeymoon.

This is exactly what a one-shot should be, in my opinion.  A short, well-written piece that allows me to read different genres and ships that I would normally miss out on if it were a multi-chaptered fic.  Even if you are a total wussperv like me, I highly recommend that you check this out.
