Every week, we mention the stories that are pwning us~fics that we are just so darned excited about, we can barely think of anything else. We asked you to tell us what’s pwning you and you answered! Why this fic pwns blue022: Bella has low self-esteem, Edward hates how he wants her. It’s a lemony fic with an interesting plot. The need to uncover the mystery of Edward is what keeps me reading. Give it a look!

Summary: Come Find Me » Alone, cold, too many rooms for one man. The black sky, lost and inviting. He can’t see what’s there but wants to want what’s past it. She’s lost and longs to be found, terrified and stuck in limbo, numb. Feel me. Come find me. AH. Edward and Isabella.
Why this fic pwns Lauren: Come Find Me pwns me because it is absolutely amazing. Samrosey’s writing style is absolutely beautiful, and every word she writes has a purpose. Everything written is tasteful and creative, and it’s almost as if the story is just one gigantic poem. Samrosey’s words accurately convey Bella and Edward’s love, and you can tell that every word written is done so with the undertone of their attraction. The plot is very unique, and ties in some canon elements that you don’t see in many other stories.

Full Disclosure by: Betty Smith
Summary: When his high school love becomes a White House Press Secretary, BBC reporter, Edward Cullen, pursues Bella Swan once again. Heartbreak, time & their jobs are between them, but they have a bond forged from grief & comfort. A love story in 2 parts. B/EPOV
Why this fic pwns Melg0510: This fic has one of the most honest and true to life teenage relationships I have read in a long time – and it’s so refreshing to read a teenage Edward and Bella acting like actual teenagers. They are both unsure, awkward, sometimes completely clueless and rude. More however importantly when they do get together they love each other hard emotionally and psychically.
The fic starts in 2009 with BBC reporter Edward tentatively trying to reconnect with White House Press Secretary Bella. The following chapters chronicles how Edward’s and Bella’s relationship began in high school from locker buddies to lovers. This fic draws you in as you read about Bella struggling with a traumatic loss and her courage and perhaps foolishness to pursue a relationship with Edward who is bound to return to England within 6 months of their love affair beginning. I love how they both make mistakes, stoopid mistakes yet still feel compelled to be together. It’s beautiful writing and Betty Smith had me so addicted to these two discovering first love together.
The fic is currently moving again into 2009 and I can’t wait to find out how E/B both ended up estranged yet still connected together via their occupations. If you read The Gentleman from Washington state then you know how on the money Betty Smith is writing in the political sphere. Adult Edward’s on a mission to get back Bella and I full believe that it’s going to be compelling.

If You Were Mine by: ThexInvisiblexGirl
Summary: AU/AH. Bella, an aspiring ballet dancer, and Edward, a prominent musician, have met briefly two years ago. They meet again in Juilliard, and sparks fly. When they finally get together, can a cruel twist of fate tear them apart?
Why this fic pwns Ursula: Typical drama/romance story that has a slow start but ends with a simple exciting story, without a far fetched storyline or twist, that will have the reader rooting for the couple all the way through. And the sequel isn’t bad either! The author doesn’t get the reviews/credit thats deserved for the story. Sort of feels like i’m reading twilight again from a romance perspective.

Why this fic pwns KMH0321: Where to begin…This is definitely something I never imagined reading but it was rec’d to me a few times through FB and I decided to give it a try. Wow, I must say that this is not what I ever imagined it to be. The author is pointing and shaking her finger at society and the law by saying it has too much power and not enough common sense when it comes to illegalizing sexual acts. It looks as though our government bases the law on their own morals and religious beliefs. It parallels with homosexuality, racism, interracial relationships etc, which she pointed out, and how we once demoralized either their color, sexual preferences or partner choices. I am reconsidering how we, as a society, put labels, faith and fear on acts that make us uncomfortable because of certain traits, heritage, gender or sexual choices.
You can tell that she has put in quite a bit of time and research, but she also has presented it in a well-written manner. It is definitely NOT smutty or tasteless, which was my first assumption when I passed it up…well, and the fact that the topic did not initially appeal to my senses. I encourage the open-minded readers out there to take a chance on what is being said, forget that the topic has to do with incest, just humor the bigger picture involved. The author has a way of making you feel comfortable, instead of constantly squirming, at least enough to stay with it. She commented about taking a chance on her story–You have nothing to lose, only something to gain–I wasn’t disappointed and I definitely gained.

In Too Deep by: EdwardsBloodType
Summary: Too much to drink,a wounded heart, and a chance encounter with his father’s mistress, lead Eddie to make a bad decision. And when he falls in love with her daughter unknowingly, he gets himself in so deep he can’t get out. AH/AU Graphic language,lemons.
Why this fic pwns Melg0510: First off, I love this Bella. She is spirited, intelliegent, kind hearted and genuinely funny. I think it’s because of this Bella, I’ve been falling for this fic harder and harder each update.
The story begins with a pathetic and lonely Edward who has no meaningful connections with anyone in his life. He walks a fine line of resentment with his father who funds his life and he seems unwilling to move past a long time ago bad break up to connect emotionally to anyone. Yeah he’s a little bit of a manwhore here.
He sleeps with his dad’s former mistress, out of loneliness and probably a ‘F – you’ to his father but as soon as the affair starts it’s over as he comes to his senses. Around this time he also meets Bella, but Bella, unbeknownst to him, is actually the daughter of the Cougar he just broke up with. Uh-oh
So now we get to see Edward falling for Bella, whilst we the reader know this is doomed to blow up in his face. Edward who is holidaying on Fire Island feels and incredible attraction to neighbor Bella and is trying his hardest to woo this sassy girl. I love how the story turns to Edward wanting to do right this time by Bella because he feels an incredible pull to her. Who could blame him when she is such a breath of fresh air:
“She’s making me fuckin’ shy and shit! What is this?
She hums in my ear, wrapping her arms around my head. “The whole honest gentlemen thing is sexy and sweet…and very overrated.” I snort, because I know she’s kidding with me. Maybe.
“Come on. Touch a boob. You know you wanna.” She waggles her eyebrows, sticking her chest out as she motions with her hand for me to take advantage. I don’t know what to do, so I squeeze her boob, which is very, very nice by the way, and I make a honking sound as I do it. Don’t ask why.
She laughing hysterically one minute and the next she’s attacking me, growling and pinning me down on the bed, like some helpless prey in the claws of a lioness.”
The dynamic is between the 2 is honest and flirty, you really get a sense of why it is that Edward is falling for her. Whilst I know there will be trouble sometime in the future. I am completely enjoying the unfurling sweetness of this burgeoning relationship.

In Your Eyes by: MoDunk
Summary: He’s older and a little awkward. She’s young and beautiful. What would he do to win her heart?
Why this fic pwns Manderbetis: Twice a week updates, a little Nerdward and one awkward handshake. What’s not to love??

Insatiable Desires by: ItzMegan73
Summary: What happens when the paths of two teenage hypersexuals cross?
Why this fic pwns petrarch72: I love everything that ItzMegan73 writes but this one takes the cake. Written in BPOV/EPOV, which is a departure from her other stories, she tells the tale of sex addict Bella and pervert king Edward. Both are in high school and Edward is not what you expect… at all. His nickname for the fic is Poonslapward. That’s all I’m going to say.

ID is bracing, biting, funny and oddly hot. If you’re looking for a new flavor of fic, this will definitely not disappoint. 7 chapters posted so far and they are exclusive to ItzMegan’s site (www.megatales.com).

L’Hotel by: samrosey
Summary: “Excuse me miss, your room is ready for you now.” The doors chime, alerting them to their floor number. He inserts the key card and the light flickers green. Will she enjoy her stay?
Why this fic pwns Jaime Arkin: *ahem* Fancy hotel, Edward in white dress shirts and ties, glasses… *swoon* samrosey tells the story beautifully and there is a bit of mystery and intrigue as well. She’s writing this based on a banner prompt and it’s so so so good!

Life in postscript by: Flibbertigidget
Summary: He was her fantasy, her dream. He also wasn’t real…until he was standing in front of her…and she couldn’t stand him. A tale of growing up, going corporate and finding true love—if you don’t kill him first. AH. Rated M for adult language/situations.
Why this fic pwns babayaga: A really sweet and funny story so far !A wave of fresh air!

Of Swans and Silence by: Edward’sChipper

Why this fic pwns Arabella: The tension and power struggle between E&B is so hot. Bella craves control over all areas of her life, and I love how Edward is her one weakness.

On Grey Mornings by: littlesecret84
Summary: Bella’s tryst with power made her infamous. Hounded and ashamed, she’s back in Forks to start over again, but where do you find a clean slate when everyone who sees you already knows your biggest secret?
Why this fic pwns Jaime Arkin: This was the final chapter of this story and it’s written beautifully and I still haven’t been able to leave a review for it. It’s not your typical wrap up, but it’s perfectly done for this story. This is a story where it’s not important to like and agree with everything the characters do, instead it puts a spotlight on the differences in how a person is perceived & judged after something happens based on who they are and what their gender is. I absolutely adored this story from start to finish and everyone should read it!

Under The Bordwalk by: Robicorn & Meguhbot
Summary: With the summer brings new people, and with the fall, an empty space they once were. See what happens when Bella meets Edward and one harmless lie turns their world upside down. Taboo/Teacher student. lemons. Be warned.
Why this fic pwns Jujubee: It’s one of those stories where you FEEL the character’s pain. Readers are able to relate to the characters, and if you can’t relate then you can’t imagine going through something so drama filled. It’s BEAUTIFULLY written, and has everyone on FF going crazy about it!

It doesn’t matter if it’s already been rec’d by us or not; all we ask is that you do not submit stories that are currently in a contest or up for an award. That’s it :)

Kristen Nicole says: When Kassiah asked me to do this Guest Review for “Brown Study,” I quickly shuffled through a myriad of emotions. I was thrilled, and then I was nervous, and then I was straight-out terrified. Everyone knows littlesecret84. She’s exceptionally funny and brash, and thus far I’ve enjoyed everything she’s written – but this new story that she’s put together is like an entirely different animal.


I love it.


Wait, scratch that. I adore it.


In the realm of twific, it’s easy to become inundated by the hundreds upon hundreds of fics that all espouse the same general plotline. There’s a Girl. Girl meets Boy. They fall in love. While this is all fine and dandy, it’s just too ephemeral for me. Something is missing from these stories. There’s no cohesiveness to bond us to the characters. In “Brown Study,” littlesecret84 has supplied us with her very own brand of Elmer’s Glue: Jane. This solid, incredibly realistic portrayal of Jane and Bella’s friendship is what makes “Brown Study” so wonderfully unique. Their easy banter and effortless interactions with one another are what gives Bella and Edward’s relationship legs to stand on. No man is an island. Bella might yearn for Edward, but in “Brown Study,” she also longs for the simple joy of spending time with her best friend – the person who really understands her and accepts her for everything that she is, good and bad. An excellent example of this comes from the very first chapter:

“Jane and I run down the stairs and out of the house, jumping into my truck to spend one last day at the beach. It’s a little chilly but we’ll get to show off our piercings and have some fun. We end up having a good time, meeting a group of local boys who are clearly into Jane and make her blush. She ends up ignoring them and I am yelling at her on our way back to the truck when I get a little carried away jumping around. The next thing I know, Jane is dragging me into the ER because my ankle hurts like a motherfucker.

I sit there patiently waiting for a doctor to see me. My foot is in Jane’s lap and she is telling me stupid stories to get my mind off the pain.”

This is not another tall tale of Alice dragging Bella on a shopping trip. This is so much better. You can put yourself into these interactions between Bella and Jane, because they seem so realistic. They hang out, watch television, and spend time together. Jane is the quintessential “best friend” here. We have had a friend like her – we have been her. There’s no cattiness, no snotty attitude, no unlikely actions or conversations. Just the story of two great friends, and what happens when one of them falls in love. How is their friendship affected by bringing in a third party? Can these bonds remain strong, even when faced by the introduction of a serious love interest?


While I enjoy the role that Edward plays in this story, he is merely the icing on top of an already delicious cake. I would read this story for the Bella/Jane interactions alone. I think that littlesecret84 has produced something remarkable here – and I honestly cannot wait to see where she goes with it.

Kassiah says: Everyone knows how much I love littlesecret84, and I’m ngl- when she told me she was writing a hs-fic, I squeed and fawned all over her. I love hs-fics and I love the way littlesecret writes, hence I knew that I’d love her hs-fic so, so much.


What I wasn’t prepared for is loving Jane. I love how realistic Bella and Jane are:

So we eat and gossip and giggle and she swears she’s not into Edward. In fact, she tells me the she doesn’t find him attractive at all. She thinks he is too hairy and hates the stubble on his face that I want to feel against my cheeks. She prefers dark eyes and doesn’t like the coppery tones in his hair.

“He has brown hair,” I argue.

“Yeah, but yesterday when we were standing outside the school and the sun was out, I noticed that he has… highlights.”

I gasp.

“No, Bella! Natural ones, you know, in the sun,” she explains.

“Oh thank God! I wouldn’t let either one of us date a boy with highlights!”

I agree with Kristen Nicole, the interactions between Jane and Bella are enough to make you want to read Brown Study, even if there was no Edward. Wait, did I actually just admit that? ::rolls eyes:: Okay, almost enough.


Oh, but there is an Edward.  He’s fuckhot and amazing and has fingers that make time stand still and thank rob I claimed him before anyone else could.

Edward, Hat Guy, Mr. Cullen, whoever he is, turns around so fast that I jump back.

Oh.

My.

God.

The eyes. The nose. The eyebrows. The lips. Can I touch them now? Scruff. He’s a boy but not really a boy because he shaves and he probably shaves a lot but he definitely did not shave this morning.

Did I mention that this is a fic that requires my hatred for Kate almost as much as my adoration for Jane. How crazy is that? Absolute. total. win.


Brown Study is a story with an amazing plot, great descriptions, excellent dialogue, and a fantastically sexy author. You can’t go wrong with that. Read it, you’ll love it.

Kassiah says: To say that this story is an out of character read for me is a huge understatement. But that’s one of the things that I love about one-shots: I can read fics that I normally wouldn’t or don’t have time for without a huge commitment or a long train ride to emoville for me. I was lucky enough to get to pre-read this story for LittleSecret84, and I have been waiting anxiously for everyone else to get to read it!

The fic starts out with Isabella Swan contemplating wearing a green silk evening gown to a Halloween party. Her reasoning?

“It is going to look breathtaking in the wind when I’m out on the cliffs later tonight.”

It continues with the mysterious Edward Cullen contemplating his latest, uh, conquests before he sees Bella and thinks,

“… take care of this one. You want her grunting, moaning, happy, coming until the very last minute. Maybe even saying your name. You said you wanted her to have your cock between those lips, and that’s not something you would allow just anyone to do. This one is special. You should taste her. Take your time and make it sweeter than the ones before. The end won’t be any different, either way.”

I don’t want to give too much of the story away, but it’s well-written and unexpected. I love how it’s raw and almost primal. The dual POVs is something that I always enjoy, and it’s no exception here. I also love Rosalie’s role in this tale *snicker*. So whether you need something scary for Halloween or you just want something that’s amazingly hot yet a little different, check out The Green Dress!

Kassiah says: WriteOnTime sent me the rec for this story, so I immediately had to check it out. I have to admit, the age difference between Bella and Edward kinda creeps me out at first. mylittlesecret84 handles the age issue with caution and more respect and grace than I would be able to. This isn’t a story that is just about a hot lawyer and his hot young intern; Bella and Edward share a real connection that seems to defy logic as they deal with the issues that would typically come up in a relationship such as theirs. This story is romantic and fuckhot. And full of wit and humor. Edward’s inner monologue just cannot be beat. Give this fic a chance, you won’t regret it.
