Official Description: Bella’s parents have comissioned a painting to be done of her by one Edward Cullen. Edward, though, is too suave for his own good and its not long before he’s trying to talk Bella right out of her own clothes.

EricasTwilight says: When I first saw the title of this fic I was drawn in, because I’ve always held a deep respect and reverence for his paintings and those of a similar style. I saw the title and links posted in the tweets of several fellow readers and authors. This was still in the early chapters, which made me wait. Then I noticed that the author had reviewed one of my own fics a few times, and my curiosity was further piqued. I’m so glad I decided to click on her profile.

I love how different Bella’s family is in this fic. Both parents, in an attempt to fit in and show off, live far beyond their means. Bella is caught in the middle, having to grin and bear it, knowing that in another year, she’ll be free to attend college. In yet another scheme to appear more well off than the Stanleys, her parents commission the local artist, Edward, to paint Bella’s portrait. Upon first impression, Edward is cocky and even comes off as manipulative – which to me is sexy as hell. Then throw in the cigarette dangling from his lips, and I’m gone.

Though everything inside her is telling Bella not to do it, she gives in to his desire to paint her nude. After all, it’s not everyday you’re called a muse by a Greek god. Eventually, her need to be painted, to be looked upon as Edward sees her, is just as insatiable as her need for his touch. In an attempt for him to get the perfect painting, she pushes past her boundaries with flushed skin and matted hair. Everything changes that afternoon.

Edward is as hot as hell, sporting shiners as well as a possessiveness and hunger for his muse-turned-siren. Her call is too strong, and he’s unable to stay away. I don’t want to give too much away, but I have to say that meimei42 has painted a vivid picture of youth meeting experience, and I can’t wait to see if they blend well together.

Kassiah says: Caravaggio is one of those stories that has so many places it can go, you just know that it’s going to be great right from the start.

Edward is a 22yo tortured artist and Bella just turned 18. She’s not happy with her parents trying to keep up the facade of being wealthy or with her friends being so fake. This story has the potential to be super-emo with so many unanswered questions, like if Edward will reject Bella because of her age (he has already told her that he isn’t boyfriend-material), whether her parents will find out about them, and how long will this unconventional relationship last.

One of the things that I love so much about it, besides meimei42‘s amazing descriptions and the depth of feeling that she conveys, is the way that Bella acts in a way that is uncharacteristic of how she usually is. She’s Edward’s muse, but more than that she feels the overwhelming need to be his muse. She needs to be painted by him, to have that connection to him. This isn’t Bella being manipulated into a situation or doing something she is reluctant to do in order to hold on to him; she wants it.

“You know,” I said, not letting go of his hand right away. “If you’re better in paints, maybe you should paint me.”

“I am painting you, Bella,” Edward replied uneasily.

“You know what I mean.”

As I spoke, I could feel one side of my brain trying to shush me, wondering what the hell had just come out of my mouth. I’d already taken my clothes off for this guy once—I shouldn’t be itching to do it again. Another part of me, though, was begging to have a repeat of what happened on Thursday. I didn’t really understand why, but that part of me wanted to be Edward’s subject again. And not just for this stupid portrait. It wanted something real, something deep. The clothing thing (or lack thereof) was still a little frightening, but the exhilaration seemed to be outweighing the fear in this instance.

“I’m not sure your parents would approve of what I would want to do with you, Bella,” Edward said, shaking his head, but not stepping away from me.

NGL, this story is hot. I really love that part of it too. I’m not sure where I think this story is headed, but I do have to say that I am looking forward to it. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.
