Katinki: So the Tales from the Void Contest has announced its winners! There were some awesome fics submitted, two of which blew me away. Alby’s Anomaly is so creative and so visual (which is a big deal for me), and I just love, love, loved it. And TallulahBelle’s Glimmer in the Vein gave me fits of gaspy-girly-squeals. Everyone ought to read these two fics, even if sci/fi isn’t your normal cuppa.

LJSummers: I really enjoyed Anomaly, too! The one that won the Twist award was Weird Fishes. I highly recommend that one, too!(Yes, okay, I was one of her betas, but read it anyway!) I also just read the latest update from Bedelia on A Forest Fire. People, this is a great fic and you really need to read it to find one explanation of Canon Rosalie’s attitude.

Caren: I am with LJ, read A Forest Fire! It’s really, really lovely. I was on vacay last week, and while I was traveling I got the chance to partake in A Getty Romance by rinabina, and in Watching Her by les_16. Both are AMAZING. And if you’re not reading, you absolutely should be!!!

MsKathy: YAY, The Silver Lining updated! I think this might be the only WiP I’m reading that has updated in the last few weeks.

Songster: Kind of in fic fail at the moment except for those regular updates I’m following. I’m totally immersed in Game of Thrones. On Book 3 and I’m dying. I think it was @katinki who said don’t get close to characters because GRRM will be sure to kill them off. Jeez, I’ve got 3 more favs I refuse to admit to for fear of death and destruction.

Kassiah: I’m fic fail too. Actually, I’m all kinds of fail, but last weekend, I read the Hex Hall series and omfg I love Archer Cross!! I hope everyone will read all three books!

Caren: I’m actually reading more than I should be. LOL! I have two more to mention now. Brighter by Rochelle Allison. Come on, ya’ll… who hasn’t read her stuff and doesn’t love it? This time she’s taken our favorite people to the island of St. Croix (which is where she’s from) and as always, she’s doing a beautiful job with building a relationship. I love it.

I also started reading Blind Spot by FictionFreak95 (finally) and dear lord, I love it. I’m not typically into fics where humans have powers, but she’s done such a great job with this that it doesn’t feel cheesy or overdone. It’s kind of perfect. There’s mystery and romance and UST and I can’t wait to find out where it’s headed.

Songster: @caren, yes to the second power. Both of those are on my regular update list. I’m also reading an interesting AU called My Mate by PrincessRachael with a very different take on the mate bond.

LJSummers: I’m actually reading an AH Edward/Bella at the moment. (Go ahead, faint.) It’s come highly recommended: My Wounded Soldier by counselor. (That pen name intimidates the heck out of me, just sayin’. I keep seeing Mrs. M, from high school, writing this…) The speech patterns in here are so authentic that, though it’s hard to integrate at first, I am really enjoying immersing myself in this Civil War era story. And, if you like Civil War era fics, please check out bsmog’s The Long Walk Home. It is totally complete. All Human, All canon couples by the end. Poignant, but hopeful.

Songster: There is an absolutely fabulous new AU vamp fic that’s being written by one of our own. The latest update was just… WOW. Yep, Katinki’s at it again. Please go read Requiem.

Caren: @Songster YES! I’m also reading My Mate and love it.
